I think it was a Nazi salute as he got carried away with excitement on inauguration day. He was buzzing with the thought of power that he could be involved in. He was so hyped up I think he forgot himself. His support for the far right in Germany and Tommy Robinson shows he’s not afraid to make a statement about his leanings. I think he’s pushing it to see how far he can go.

ii) is the most excusable but you have to worry about someone who can see that vid of themselves and not immediately be “OMG WTF I AM FACEPALM INCARNATE!”
