How long before Trump and Musk fall out?

It's the US. I'm sure strings can be pulled. I know this is a derail but why does he use 'Boris' rather than 'Alexander'?
As 8ball says, it's theatre, artifice. The 'man of the people' schtick only works if he's Boris, rather than Alexander de Peffel or whatever the middle name is. He's a clown by many definitions, stage name included.

As for the “one friend” - I know someone who is quite high up in HMRC who goes to regular meetings in Whitehall who told me that the weird thing about Boris, having got to know him a bit, is that while he has family and close colleagues and assorted hangers on, he doesn’t seem to actually have any friends as such.

None.

I just inserted the “one friend” bit because part of me feels a little sorry for him.

Boris isn't exactly the most working class of names. I did read somewhere though that his shoddy dress sense and unkempt hair is actually quite choreographed. His following globally is massive, its hilarious. He's apparently the most popular politician in France, Australia etc etc... Absurd. I wonder what odds I could get on him being President one day. Or at the very least Sec Gen at the UN.

Quite aside from the Russian connotations.
And yeah, that’s bang on about the shambling appearance.

His popularity abroad is much like with our Royal family. Foreigners fawn over them, but ask them if they want their own monarchy and its “WTF - fuck no!”.*

* - foreigners from countries with monarchies excepted, obv - they just want rid of theirs**

** - with possible exception of Thailand

Musk has no chance of being POTUS given where he was born but he does have even more kids than Boris (who incidentally could actually be POTUS if he wanted to give it a go as he was born in NY).

Musk has 12 legitimate kids and probably dozens more. I think he's playing the long game. At some point a Musk will have their feet up on the desk in the oval office.
Johnson renounced his US citizenship.

(iirc after being made to pay US taxes on profits after selling the marital home due to the divorce that was the consequence of his cheating with his staffer Carrie (now current wife) while his then-wife was suffering from cancer. just in case you needed any more proof he's a lowlife)

I'm not sure if that would make him illegible, or whether he could run if re-applied for citizenship, although I'm not sure if that's allowed.

MAGA base don't like Trump/Musk H-1B immigrant visa. Trump has changed his view since getting buddy with Musk. MAGA don't like it at all.
Although apparently plenty of them were falling in line with it the minute Trump weighed in to say he agreed with Musk.

Boris would probably be considered a "RINO" in the states anyway so i wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I think Musk is a very clever individual, he's an utter cunt with an ego the size of a planet and the principles of a sociopathic rattlesnake but definitely very smart. Whereas Donnie Dumbass is as thick as the proverbial pigshit.
I think you're right in that Musk is manipulating Trump, it will be interesting to see how long it goes on before we get a supercritical mass on the ego front.
It'll be Johnson and Cummings all over again.

Here's a thought. They wouldn't try to put Johnson in charge of Reform would they?

They've got Andrea Jenkins and I bet Mad Nads would happily join along with various others. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fair few Tory MPs that would happily jump ship if he was put in.

Johnson wouldn’t touch them.

I thought the far right regarded johnson as 'socialist' for not being anti-vax enough during covid / throwing money at things after covid

You and 8ball are most probably right. Just seeems like very off timing for Musk to go against Farage so was thinking of why now and what they are planning.
