Sloe gin. Before that I had a cheeky amaretto. Got home from babysitting and am winding down. All is silent. I love this time :)
 
The last of the Silent Pool gin & fevertree tonic.
It's a little stronger than I'd normally make it, but the choice was 2 weak or 1 pokey as fuck.

I'm drinking Negronis.

I'm using the double-shot measure.
I know I'm not a drunk, because I'm using the measure.

Fresh squeezed orange juice, with the bits. I meant to use the zest too. I even washed it. But then I forgot.
Equal (double shots) of
Sweet vermouth
Campari
London gin
Topped up with fizzy water. To make them long.

And loads of ice.
 
2011 screwtop St Emilion I had "laid down". I think I paid 8 quid a bottle - which is almost a shock thinking about it as I've been drinking Aldi's cheap blended Merlot and Pinot Noir for so long.

It has matured and is very nice - though I'm not so certain about it - it tasted totally like a mouldy cellar when I first tried it and I liked it for that reason.

It's now got more fruit, and a little more acidity and tannin.

It takes a day after opening to start to be the way I like it.
 
Gewurztraminer Domaine Paul Blanck et Fils, Alsace 2013, Apellation Alsace Controlee. A very pleasant drop to wash down some pork in hoisin sauce. :)
 
Jesus, I started this thread in 2008. My poor liver! Eight years later, and I fucking hate chardonnay, nasty shit. I'm on Italian Pinot Grigio now. Never buy Argentinian pinot grigio, it'll strip the skin off the inside of your mouth :eek::(

That's strange. By a coincidence I was drinking Chardonnay last night. I had gone into my local for a pint of beer but it was not quite up to scratch so I changed to white wine. It was fine.
