What's in your glass?

Tempranillo, fruity. On offer at Laithwaites. I think it was part of a deal where it was down to about £6.50-ish a bottle if you bought a few. Tastes pricier than that. Not a bad drop at all. :)

Shortly, a nicely chilled Thatchers Rose then a Thatchers Katy - Mrs Voltz was asked to refrain from getting the usual bottle of "Any old port in a storm" for the weekend so I'm strictly on cider and maybe, some wine and possibly a splash or two of Makers Mark - but apart from that, ne'er a drop shall pass my lips

Plenty nice drinks in Moro last night. Never had orange wine before, lovely stuff. New to me and now going to be a favourite come the summer months was a negronie. Never really a gin drinker before but these are lovely. Very refreshing and very strong

Negronie: one part gin, one part vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel.

Morgan's Spiced, honey, cinnamon, lemon, ginger and hot water. A cold isn't such a bad thing when it's an excuse for a few of these.

Hardys Crest two for a tenner from local con-veeniance store. They wanted 9.99 for a bog standard rioja  Anyway this one's Cab, sav, shiraz, merlot. It seems they just chuck the lot in until it tastes ok :)

Just noticed the glass is dirteh too. Ahh well it's a jolly fine blend to be doing your hoovering to :)

Irish Meadow Country Cream.

Having only refound my fondness for Baileys at xmas I now intend working my way through the cheap versions.

What does everyone recommend? I shall be getting 2 bottles of Ballycastle Irish Country Cream (Aldi, £3.75 ) for St. Patricks day on Thursday.

Just came on here to post my negroni variation and this was the first post I saw :)

So the variation is to use bourbon instead of gin - it's called a Boulvardier. Except the relevation tonight is to vary the amounts, so 2 parts bourbon (Knob Creek), 1 part Martini Rosso and 1 part Aperol (instead of Campari). Works well.

Waxed Bat Shiraz Cabernet Malbec. A bloody lovely drop, this. Could've very happily had a lot more than the two glasses I stick to on a week night.
