Ooh i like them very different.
Had my ears pierced for my 16th birthday. .at a local jewellers...with a needle.
Suffered infections from day 2 for 10 weeks. It was horrendously painful. Pus coming out all the time.
In hindsight I now know that my immune system is extremely reactive. So I feel that my immune system went absolutely berserk at these holes and metal things in my ears. Once healed all was well though.
I wear them all the time. I don't take them out at night if they are sleepers or studs. They come out for showers and any kind of medical scan or x ray.
I had magnetic ear studs before I got my ears pierced. They were cool

I had mine pierced at Primrose Valley caravan site in the 1970's.
