First sample of this year’s hedgerow plonk - a blend of Blackberry and Elderberry (with raspberries and wild strawberries bringing up the rear). Really good balanced flavour for a wine so young but it will be spectacular by Xmas.
It's back. I'm off the beer till xmas (or at least trying), but I think I'll get 12 in for the period. I mean, who doesn't want a 12.5% stout that's fortified with cherry brandy? I'm rather hoping my local gets on tap again.
We had a bag of berries in the freezer for 2 years, so I've just chucked it in the blender with a load of vodka, triple sec and sugar-free syrup. Delish!
Vodka with mixers I've messed about with, pink lemonade, drumstick raspberry squash and drumstick bubble gum. Very refreshing and still works nicely without the vodka.
similar, except the dark version (sainsburys nearest to me does it) - think it used to have a different name (remember having it a few times when i was living / regular visitor to leeds) but presume they want to use the 'landlord' name
Opened a lovely bottle of Sancerre for dinner with friends. It was from a winery I visited about 20 years ago, I think it was only stocked by Fortnum & Mason back then, but I recently came across a bottle in Selfridges and it's been in my coal cupboard for a couple of months waiting for a nice dinner to drink it with. Highly recommended, if you like Sancerre.
Got quite a few bottles of red in for the Xmas period. Got an expensive one (for me) a few weeks back that was 12 down from 25. Served the wrong wine with Xmas dinner and it was amazing. Think it was 6 quid. Opened the one I meant to serve as it's dry beyond belief. So turns out a drop of port makes it that much better.
