What's in your glass?

Jameson. I was offered a gift of whisky and the gifter was aghast at how I could opt for this instead of choosing something nice. And I like nice...but I also love cheap, burning mess that the likes of Famous Grouse are. It takes me way back. Jameson was my 'nice' whiskey when I was like, 17.

Went to the wild West yesterday, (Hayes Town), and seeing that 'spoons (Botwell Inn) had taken advantage of the geographical proximity and offered a Welsh ale, I had a very refreshing pint of this (recommended):

So, to keep the Welsh theme going this weekend I went into the beer cellar and found this to kick off proceedings tonight:

OH got some Lambs Pineapple Rum on special offer (he only tends to drink spirits so will just pick up whatever is on offer when he needs to restock) - omfg I just tried some, it tastes like when you caramelise pineapple rings in butter and brown sugar and rum - only more alcoholic.

Scotch and coke. I had an extremely weird day doing nothing but cleaning near the laptop. To the garden to see things change.

We Had The World In Our Hands Rocky Road Imperial Stout Fallen Acorn 44cl 11.0%

Or £60 for 24. It was selling for £7 a can. Very tempted. But if I like I'll never get it again.

Last of my 24 tonight. It's sad because I'll never get it again and because Stouts like that don't come up often at that price :(

Going to a friends house and I'm going to share it with him as last time he came to mine he was driving and it's not really something you can have even a half of it you are. Also got a big bottle Leffe and a couple of Aldi punk inspired IPAs.

Well I'm trying to drink less and spend less money this month. So no spirits or very strong beer and rather then go to corner shop to get 4 cans of lager for £6 I went to Aldi which does a very good Kroneburg knock off less £4. Except next to it they 4 cans of Leffe for £6, which is great value compared to bottles, but borderline on the strong beer.

Sometimes one just has to accept the gifts the universe sends you.

Birthday Malbec. Have been out for Tapas, so had a couple of really nice cocktails, shared a bottle of Rioja and now here we are.

A blend of the last of the 2022 scrumpy. I’ve had a pint and my face has gone numb. I gave a bloke in work a bottle of the same and he said it was like “attempted murder”. It’s completely insane brew - about 10-12% abv - but very euphoric 😎

ETA It’s totally fucking mental - I’m flying!

Cocktails.
In fact, I think I may have invented a new cocktail. I shall call it Another Mr Lizard. It has white rum in it, and that's all I'm prepared to say on the matter this evening. The other ingredients may remain secret until field tests are completed and the optimum formula has been finalised.
Moving on to a French Daiquiri next

Not ordered anything online for ages, in fact I've been quite enjoying traditional bottled ales again recently, rather then the stronger and more expensive "craft" IPAs.

However, got this in an email and it's good timing as visiting folks next weekend and it's always nice to bring a few bottles of something different.
