What's in your glass?

I didn't drink yesterday and am ready to start now. I don't know what to have

When I've made my mind up expect a birthday *cheers* from me Voley

 I'd love to do that.

<leaps in this thread to give Voley a birthday snog>

Polishing off the Lowenbrau and then having a fucking big rum and coke :)

I had a couple of good rums earlier. Flor De Cana. Top stuff. The temptation to make a serious dent in the bottle was almost overwhelming. This ale I'm on now is me compromising. :D

Never seen that anywhere, whats it like?

Oh its bloody lovely. I think you'd pay good money for it over here mind. I was given it as a prezzie from someone who recalled me raving about it from when I was on my travels. It's Nicaraguan. So good that the Rough Guide To Nicaragua used to have it as one of the top 20 best things about the country. Up there with hiking the volcanoes and everything. Not entirely sure that's true but I admire the sentiment. :D

Since it has not been mentioned in this thread since 2014 Henney's cider 6% and the perfect night cap after a night on cask ale (i.)

i. I will qualify this statement in a few hours time

Trying to re-educate my palate after months and months of cheap and cheerful Aldi French blended Malbec and Pinot Noir...
I also want to know if I will be able to survive retirement in France with excellent wine and still be able to resist the allure of the stinky cheese which I have given up again for several reasons.

Not that their "Bordeaux Supérieur" is probably representative, but it's pleasant enough - more acidic than I'm used to but balanced by more body .. and nice tannins ..

Viña Tarapacá Cabernet Sauvignon. Bloody lovely, this. I'd got a bit bored of Cabernet Sauvignon tbh as a lot of the supermarket stuff tastes pretty samey but this one's a beauty. Chilean. One of Laithwaites recommendations and a very good one.

I've moved on to this, now. Just the one bottle though - not half a dozen as pictured - as I am a man of great abstemiousness, an ascetic even, as you know.

It's OK. When you order six bottles of mixed reds on offer from Laithwaites, you get two that are there to cut their losses, I think. These are those. Good value at about six quid a bottle though.

Does u75 have a "That Twat With Chartreuse" trophy? Because I am drinking a cocktail called a Spring Feeling which is 1 part lemon juice, 1 part chartreuse and 2 parts gin. It's as dry as a bone and going down rather splendidly but I suspect I am soon going to want either a Fucking Massive Burger or... even worse... another Spring Feeling.
