I got a present today of a bottle of something called Chocolate Drop, which the label on the bottle tells me is an imaginative blend of red British wine and dark chocolate. Couldn't decide whether it sounded too odd to drink or too odd not to. !2%, mind; so I gave it a go.
The woman who gave it to me is a pal of mine and we have this sort of ongoing daft thing were we give each other peculiar presents at random times for no real reason apart from to freak the other one out.

Well, she's failed this time - it's absolutely sodding lovely.

Proper rich and deep and Christmassy. I rang her to ask where she got it and after she'd finished being stunned to find out how much I like it, she told me it was from B&M's. So it'll cost nowt. Great! I'll be down there tomorrow to clear the shelves.

No mate. Wish I had. I only manage to get this because Tesco's do it. If I'd thought I could have got a few bottles in for Xmas. My Xmas booze budget is more than spent now though.

Sticking with pale ales I'm giving this one a go for the first time just now:

Not bad at all. I've tried a few variations on Old Speckled Hen and this one's nice. Very sharp and hoppy, clue's in the title, like. Old Crafty's nice, too but quite potent.
