there's one in my brother's kitchen - I'll ask him what it is and clear up the mystery once and for all. I've never used it, just looked at it curiously but fearfully (a bit like the apes do at the monolith in 2001), before reaching for the gold blend.
That second one looks worth a punt, it's a straight rip but with the added aeropress improvements, metal mesh filter, and the base with a silicone valve, which makes it far easier to load, and if you plunge hard enough, it bit of crema. Good price.
