I don't want the odd drink. I did, occasionally, but it's not worth it. Merely arouses the appetite without bedding it down.

I stuffed some earl grey teabags in a jar to take to uni today. It seems the jar is an old mint sauce jar and the tea has a faint minty tang. It's quite nice really.

I'm still picking up a bottle of Tesco's cheeky "Promenade - Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu" (sans Papes) whenever I go in there. It's pretty decent stuff by any measure at £4.99.

I'm starting to be annoyed now that on my Sunday rides, all I can get in the pubs to go with my lunch is over-powering New World reds - a glass of user-friendly JP Chenet's Pays d'Oc Merlot would go down nicely.

Otherwise, at home, my alternative is good old Shepherd Neame "spitfire".

Drank similarly to tequila but substitue lime for orange slices and salt for ground coffee, dip the orange in the coffee, drink the shot, suck on the orange slice with coffee.
