US election 2020 thread

Florida is the bellweather. More I think about it, the more it's cruciality is more apparent: If Biden wins, tonight is a victory lap, if Trump wins, not only does he now have a numerical chance, but it signals that all (most of) the poll predictions have been off, and we've got the threat of 2016 all over again...

Not sure how relevant/important The Weather has been today for voting in the United States, but most forecasts up until very recently were predicting largely dry and largely sunny weather across the vast majority of the whole country, in almost all states.

If that's how it's turned out today, who does that help most I wonder?

Right : I'm off to a quick bath then bed, as I'll be getting and catching up no later than 4:30 am GMT!

Not a swingometer, but there's a 'needle' here that does what you'd expect... Election Needles: President

(Must admit, as a data geek, these do's are like the superbowl for visualisation and information presentation nerds like me  )
Was just about to post "not sure I can stand CNN coverage :( is there coverage that just gives the highlights?"

so ta for that :)

I might try CNN again in a bit but I'm finding it very difficult - like with british elections - when they're talking non-stop with no actual information to give yet.

This could be a good one for alternative voices.

‘CNN - slightly quicker than sky and less annoying than the BBC’ - it’s one hell of a tag line.

I’m gonna watch Atlanta-Liverpool, nowt else is happening

In fact, if this does get in the bag early tonight...There'll be only one channel to watch, to see the slow Fox denial and meltdown. Shit, this is dangerous talk now  IT'S STILL UP IN THE AIR...NOTHINGS CONFIRMED...I'M STILL SHITTING IT.

This was suggested in our house but I value my technology too much* and do not wish to see a TV/laptop kinetic interface.

*can't afford new ones.

First results coming in: Greene and Dekalb Counties IN; absentee votes (about 55% of total) breaking about +40% for Trump. Trump won about +50% overall in 2016. What does this mean? Not a lot, yet!

e2a: now Steuben county too - absentees (51%) +23% for Trump - he was +44% last time.

lol ....first result (an Indiana county , Pences gaff ) 68%trump ,29 % Biden ...so far

I'm glad we get a single final result per county , an not a running total as in the US
theres more drama in it if its somewhere else , though
