US election 2020 thread

Anyone got a link to how many (& which) states have officially certified their votes / results (as I've lost count !) and when the remaining ones are due to do so ?

Found this although i can't vouch for it's accuracy or if it is up to date.

Just wanting to watch (from a safe distance) the progressive meltdown / impending tantrum from the white house ...

it is mildly entertaining, if simultaneously very depressing ...

Keeping more of an eye on how the up-coming occupant is developing after the largely failed blocking attempts is also on-going.

Plus the on-going republican car wreck in Georgia ...

All the contentious swing states where his Orangeness and his cronies have tried to indulge in legal tomfoolery have certified now, those that are left are either solid R or solid D.
The fat lady hasn't merely sung, she has taken her bows to rapturous applause and has left the stage.

Hmm...Arizona and Wisconsin still to certify

It’s extra stupid this, as a whole days news cycle, but I suppose they were all cooking turkeys all day and imagining how apoplectic with rage he is is quite nice.

Americanism means 'commonly used by Americans' not 'invented by Americans'. The words diaper and faucet both have origins older than the new world but are commonly regarded as Americanisms.
Originating from or specific to American language use according to Wiktionary Americanism - Wiktionary

So as it didn't originate from and is not specific to American language use I don't think it's an Americanism

Another Trump appointed judge tells Team Trump to fuck off. :D

In a blow to Donald Trump’s spurious legal campaign to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election, a federal appellate court has rejected his emergency appeal in a Pennsylvania lawsuit.

The 3-0 rejection in the case, seeking another attempt to overturn the results in the state after a lower court had tossed out the suit last week, follows yet another loss in his campaign’s attempts to undermine president-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 race. Mr Biden won the state by roughly 80,000 votes, according to Pennsylvania secretary of state’s office.

A blistering ruling from the Third District’s Stephanos Bibas – a Trump-appointed judge – said “free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy.”

“Charges of unfairness are serious,” he said in his ruling on Friday. "But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here."

Another big HaHa at Marty1

Supporters of Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the presidential election in Georgia say they have filed a federal lawsuit that accuses top state officials of abetting voter fraud.

The lawsuit says Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger rushed to buy new election software that played a big role in a scheme “illegally and fraudulently manipulating the vote count to make certain the election of Joe Biden as president of the United States.”

FFS, there's already been a recount by hand in Georgia, that proves there was no problem with the counting machines, what a bunch of fucking clowns.
