US election 2020 thread

Trump is losing support among white men but gaining support among minority groups. The ‘race’ meta-narrative barfed up by liberalism is embarrassingly wide of the mark:

Despite the shuffling figures, he's still supported by a majority of white men, and just 8% of black women. It's not exactly on a knife edge.

Point of order: AN is, to his credit, a titan of political TV (ask Boris, who pretty much cemented him in legend).

Just a shame he's a massive twat,, and genuine Nasty Piece Of Work. Oh, and a textbook bona fide bully.
Points of order relate to the conduct of meetings, eg a call for a quorum count. Your point of order is a point of information

As an aside, I think those states not counting PV till after polls close have got it right, tbh.
The covert intel gathered by PV verification/count observers from all main parties in this country is significant in informing campaigning strategy at the ground level.

In 2019 Kuenssberg was filmed talking about the Tory PV intel before the close of polling.

Spot on, and it wasn't even true in 2016.

Even though Trump is obviously a racist and racists obviously vote for him, the Democrat states that went for Trump in 2016 fell because the Democrat vote went down not because the Republican vote went up.

In other words the Rust Belt "white working classes" came out for Obama but stayed at home for Clinton. Lots of possible reasons for that but it's pretty hard to make "racism " one of them.

Precisely. We need to remember this the next time the PMC pipe up (which, even after this shitshow, won’t be long)

Lincoln Project have been great entertainment, through this tbf, fighting the good fight. Methinks Mr Sirota is spoiling for a fight - He must be new to Twitter, it's really not the arena for tit-for-tats... :hmm:

Lincoln Project media has been infinitely more compelling than Democrat generated stuff. Shown them up to be the useless executors of... anything.

Which is bananas, really. They must have such a wealth of talent in their support base (with a skew towards college educated people, everyone on twitter that's not a dickhead...), how do they get it so wrong all the time? Impeachment, getting outfoxed on fed judiciary...The party of Obama are just damn useless

the race narritive is also wrong because none of Biden's supporters can actually offer any evidence of his antiracism. none. It's irritating to see bumble go into an existential crisis here as if us saracens don't always bight our lip and vote for people who might be personally racist all the time. get a bottle of brandy and conk out.

Am now grimly entertaining myself watching Biden's lead grow in California as they stack up all those pointless votes. He's currently nearly 4m ahead
Every now and then they have a referendum about splitting California in two. Normally thought to favour republicans and potentially split the electoral college vote so they don't all go Dem, but with those numbers you'd have to say the Dems would probably hold both and get an extra two Senate seats into the deal most years.
