Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

So Russians in Russia are aware that Russian soldiers are dying in droves? How are they getting the information?

Well when you have 2 massive countries with centuries of living peacefully together and millions ,literally, of social ,cultural and familial connections I'm sure you can work it out. People speak to family by whatever means they can.

These Turkish drones - are they the cutting edge, then?

As in, they have a reputation now that is akin to the Gatling gun of old, or some other revolutionary thing, but do they have an edge that no one else has now?

Asking given how decisive they were in Armenia-Azerbaijan and how devastatingly effective they seem to still be now, even when up against a sophisticated adversary.

Are we missing perhaps that Turkey has an edge on pretty much everyone else right now?

Would explain Erdogan’s general bullishness.

What's this now?

Oh, I see the video..

Well at least we can take faith in the fact that even if the worse happens and the bombs are falling

old beefs will still be being argued about till we are all vaporised

sláinte people
It would seem appropriate, seeing as if we are vaporised it will most likely be the result of old beefs.

hmm don't think it will be world war 3 but if they managed to keep the russian at bay for another nigh
i can see Putin using biological/chemical or a tactical nuke to save face

then its how the world responds

Is it time to get my Swiss passport out. They still have nuclear bunkers under every block of flats there, stocked with food and water. Thing is you might survive but then it would just be a load of Swiss people. Don’t fancy it much.

Mediocre cheese, timepieces and nazi gold.

Not quite the point though is it? We're told that Putin controls the media and information flows and that the people of Russia don't actually know what's going on. However, somehow the information that thousands of Russian troops are dying is getting through to Russians in Russia when it's not even being reported here.

He isnt going to use a tactical nuke on Ukraine just because some people believed shit about the war being won in 5 minutes.

Here is information about an analysts article from weeks before the war began, where he picked apart the silly myths that some within Russia were spouting about how easily and quickly the war could be won.

Yeah whatever, not getting into this. I've said what I know. Find out yourself.

Why on earth would you think that Putin, sat at his end of the mad long table, would have the same understanding of things as that analyst "who says what the Kremlin doesn’t want to hear"?
You can't predict Putins actions from some piece of writing by a man who says 'Armed conflict with Ukraine now fundamentally doesn’t meet Russia’s national interests'.

Ukraine claimed 4,000 Russian casualties as I recall. It may be totally wrong of course, but that's not really the point.

Again, not quite the point. We've been led to believe that this kind of information isn't getting through to ordinary Russians because Putin has total control of the media.

Yep - these things basically decided the Armenia-Azerbaijan war. It would seem that, until you have an answer to this sort of drone, your logistics are vulnerable in a way that they never have been before. Armoured support and artillery also extremely vulnerable. It seems to be a genuine breakthrough in air power.

Just not possible in the modern world. I know very little about the situation in Russia, but I'd imagine anyone even vaguely online got themselves a VPN a long time ago. Obviously does depend on your definition of 'ordinary Russians'.

could be this is helping.

Oh FIFA, you bellends.

They can't play as Russia, they have to call themselves the "Russian Footballing Union". They play at neutral venues, with no national anthem.

That's it.

Read the fucking room you idiots.

Czechs, Sweden, England, Poland have all said they won't play them. They are due to play a world Cup playoff soon.

Maybe they have old fashioned ham radios

controlling the whole internet is kinda hard that i would suspect

i mean even china had to bring in a points based citizen control method to divert people from being anti government and expect good comminust to report
people

you forget the comman nature of both countries and the relative family ties

its not like invading afganistan with people far away
this is a nieghbour who speaks the same language
