UK Snooker Championship 2017

There's been some craking matches so far, Murphys last match was a final frame decider against (haigh?) some bloke from Stoke. Also enjoyed watching Selby getting taken out in second round by Scott Donaldson

Was going to start a thread but didn't think it'd get any interest

I have started threads for the Masters and the Worlds in the past, but likewise I wasn't sure if people were up for the UKs.

I really enjoyed watching Yan Bingtao for the first time yesterday. He's certainly a rough diamond, but didn't jump the gun with attacking play.

I love the Nugget and everything, but I really wish Steve Davis would refer to the Chinese players properly, as Yan, Ding, Liang, etc. Calling him "Bingtao" just sounds naive.

ETA: I've got tickets for a session at the Masters in January. Get the fuck in!

enjoyed King v Higgins, I didn't even know there was more snooker on this side of 2018 so its nice to get some cueing goodness before christmas

He tends to call British players by their personal names doesn't he?

Ronnie vs Maguire

Hendry's commentating has a noticeable amount of table-psychology insights. I want to call bullshit on his game theorising but, who is going to call bullshit on hendry

Aye, i'm doing fuck all but sit on the sofa, eating, drinking and watching this match today

Lots of snooker on Eurosport all year round.
We watch it through Sky when it isn't on the BBC or ITV but you can watch online for a fee if you're interested ska invita www.eurosport.co.uk/snooker £30 a year for Eurosport Player
thanks will have look at that! got my laptop nicked so cant currently stream iplayer or even open that link on current device, but appreciate the thought
you cant beat a bit of bbc commentary and presentation though

He does, generally. Is it so simple that Junhui is Ding's "first name" equivalent? Your username suggests you may know more than I do about Chinese name protocol.

Murphy looked incredible from distance last night. Everything just flew into the centre of the pocket, but still he keeps breaking down and fails to make the big breaks. I expect him to win tonight though.

Maguire was a bit blown away by O'Sullivan before the interval, but full credit to him for coming out afterwards. O'Sullivan only showed traces of his top game, and may well be benefiting from the other top players being knocked out early.

As much as i dislke him i have to say, Shaun Murphy looks fucking dangerous and he gives good snooker.

he's got better form than ronnie was showing earlier. Team Day though, given he needs the win more as a lower ranker

Yeh, Ronnie needs to sort his form out if hes going to beat a determined Murphy.
