Tottenham Hotspur 2020-21

Something for the 'Trophy' cabinet...

Spurs are the only English team to lose in the Europa Conference League :)
Liked this because of being a gooner & the misery of being bottom of the league next week. Have to try and find something positive about the spuds,

Get the fuck in, Kane announces on twitter that he's staying at Spurs. Next season both Lewandowski and Haaland will be on the move (potentially a FREE Mbappe as well), and there's only so many clubs with the clout to sign that lot.

He's a Spurs lifer :)
Yeah, he doesn't realise it yet, hence the staying 'this summer' but his chance is gone. He's stuck.

A minor point of interest is that Portugal moved above France last night in the UEFA co- efficients following Benfica’s qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League .

Be interesting to see how he plays. He's gonna be pretty pissed off, might make him want to show everybody what they're missing, or make him think he's not going to do anything to help that cunt levy who told him he could leave and then changed his mind.

I think he’s a pro tbh so there’ll be no performance issues . City’s interest was hardly robust tbh although maybe a case of an irresistible force meeting an immovable force .

If he's pissed off, it should be aimed at Man City, not Spurs. All of the noise (how much was concrete and how much was journalistic license is open to debate) was not that he couldn't leave, but that a price had to be met. 150mil is ludicrous in the wider scheme of things but not in football terms - England captain and a cast iron guarantee of 20+ league goals, 30+ all comps, just turned 28 in a time when 30 is no longer the barrier it once was (see Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski, Suarez to name a few).

City didn't offer anything near that. Case closed.

So why did he not turn up to training?

Dunno. Not really been keeping up with it but wasn't there sometbing about him not arriving when he should have?
Mixed reports, I think it's fair to say. He had an extended holiday but had to quarantine on arrival home - some confusion as to whether the club's "yeah you can be on holiday until the 10th" meant "come home by the 10th" or "complete your quarantine by the 10th". I think the whole thing was probably 2 competing factions battling for PR supremacy, and both sides would have known exactly what the situation was supposed to be.

Luckily he loves his own stats and an off the boil season won't help his future sale any. I don't think he's at his best at the moment though.

Spurs fans, I come cap in hand on behalf of one of your own.

My mum turns 70 at the end of November, and trying to think of possible Spurs-related gifts for her. There's the standard stuff like a stadium tour and such, but thought you folk might have some other ideas? Maybe something with a bit more history/sentiment to it?

She's got a season ticket, and you're home to Leeds that weekend, so she'll probably be going to that. She's not a big fan of attention, but maybe there'd be a way to mark her birthday without the whole stadium knowing who she is?

I'm pretty sure she's also already got a share in the club, as I remember being annoyed years ago that my brother had come up with that idea before me and got her one  :D
