Tottenham Hotspur 2020-21

Good work out for Pacos who have a league game Sunday and needed to make several substitutions . For Spurs , Davies looked energetic and whilst Gil has some pace and a nice touch he’s a bit brittle , may take time to settle, .

its all about the league though isnt it? think thats the attitude for all teams now
Well aside last season from Man Utd getting to the Europa League final , Man City getting to the final of the Champions League and Chelsea winning the Champions League and Super Cup , yes .

Someone has to win those competitions - the teams with the best players and deepest squads will tend to win them
But theres a reason Spurs played their B team yesterday and thats because they dont want to waste any energy on non Prem games
Even the FA cup has lost its magic somewhat, apart from the giant killing matches along the way

Ndombele has now asked to leave
Ndombele has got a bit of the Balotellis about him. Not to the same extent obv, 'cos MB was/is an absolute one off, but if someone can get inside Ndombele's head and convince him to play at his best 8 or 9 times out of 10 he'll be a world beater.

As it is - Poch put an arm round him, Mourinho gave him a boot up the arse, and now Nuno seemingly doesn't know what to do with him. Even with France, they've tried him and discarded in favour of more reliable options. At some point we have to think it might be the player himself rather than how he's been treated.

As for last night, meh. 1-0 is a slender deficit to overcome in the home game, if we choose to put some more of our first team players. The disappointing thing for me isn't the result, it's that a few players who should be pushing for the first 11 (Winks, Lo Celso, Sessegnon for example) didn't exactly make much of a case for our squad depth, and a pair of big money signings (Gil, Romero) had a fairly chastening introduction to life at Spurs.

Two years ago you were in the CL final . The idea that Your coach wants Spurs out of Europe is nonsense , he is worried about fitness levels early season took a gamble against a small team in Portugal and got beat with two new signings being positively underwhelming . Second leg he’ll field a stronger team and Spurs should win .

sorry for the inane questions but what's happening with Bale, too?

This from two months ago to show that I did check

He's back at Real Madrid, being dicked about with squad numbers but there's light at the end of the tunnel now Ancelotti is in charge - seems to like him, back in the first team.

Hope he does well but that's a shame, was looking forward to seeing him at more games for spurs.
I love the fella to bits, but his body is creaking and he only had the hoped for impact in short flashes. Losing Bale is not the disaster it once was, if anything Lucas Moura is now the better option on the right wing.

2 wins from 2 - neither completely convincing, but one was vs the Champs and the other a tough away game against a side that on their day can give anyone a game. We'll need to have more possession in games to come, but at least there are some foundations being laid to build on.

Need a good result in the stupid European league thing just to avoid embarrassment and to keep the feelgood factor. Watford at home on Sunday while Arsenal are away at Man City - we could conceivably be 9 points up on them from 3 matches, I'd hate for them to have "yeah but knocked out of Europe by part time farmers lol" as a comeback, even if that competition doesn't feel like it means much.

Something for the 'Trophy' cabinet...

Spurs are the only English team to lose in the Europa Conference League :)
Unique achievement - we've the full set. Losses in the European Cup, Champions League, Fairs Cup, Uefa Cup, Europa Cup, Europa League, Cup Winners Cup, Europa Conference League. I'm not sure on the Intertoto, but we've sadly not enjoyed defeat in the Anglo-Italian cup.
