Tottenham Hotspur 2020-21

He ain’t all that is he? No Shearer, certainly not a Rooney, better than Lineker though; interesting question.

Lineker at the bottom of those four? Not sure about that at all. Was consistently excellent at every club he joined (238 goals in 461 appearances all in the top flight bar a handful of games for grampus 8 ) and for England. Lightening quick reflexes, great first touch, great reader of the game - world class. Different type of player to the others - but personally id put him top.

i think it says a lot about lineker that you so rarely hear anyone say a bad word about him. shearer was a cunt back in the day, with his whining after kicking neil lennon in the head about how he'd quit as england captain if he got punished.

Before this descends into fisticuffs, when I listed them I deliberately didn't rank them. I think they all had assets that put them at or near the top of the world number 9s or 10s at their time.

Lineker was a very clever and very hard working footballer. But was he on the level of Van Basten? Or Romario?

This is the thing about choosing the best English players, it's like comparing our car industry to the rest of the world.

Once got into a 2am spliff smoking convo at uni with a German and an Italian, about our respective countries' best ever players. Yes, yes, you can imagine...

(you can superficially ignore my point but you can't truly ignore it)

different types of player - but pretty comparable scoring record when playing in top flight competitions.

And lets not even go there with regards to the charm, warmth, intelligence and selflessness of mr rooney.

Neil Lennon is a cunt

Good manager, handled the massive influx of Portuguese players that come with a Jorge Mendes link well and had them playing good football. The slight concern is that Wolves were found out a bit this season and didn't kick on from 2 exceptional seasons.

In short, meh. Could do a lot worse but surely there are better.

He’s good imo , could get better or stay the same . I think the dip this season was partly due to selling a main striker and then the other getting injured and Traore got found out a lot more. What you get from Nuni is a disciplined , hardworking and unified squad and a team that presses and counterattacks .

sounds great to me

Whoever the manager is, there's a good squad to work with, just with a questionable defence. The midfield hasn't had the solidity behind it to play with a freedom that would see the front players thrive, and it could have cost us the services of potentially the best centre forward we've ever had - which is a pretty big statement given Jimmy Greaves and Clive Allen.

Make a few quid selling a few fringe players like Sissoko, Sanchez and Aurier (and Doherty, although unlikely if Nuno is the new manager). Stick a few quid back in and buy Max Aarons from Norwich, Ben White from Brighton. Recall Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon. Keep Bale for another season. Give Lloris the mother of all sendoffs for a job well done and bring in Sam Johnstone. Convince Kane that we're serious about building a platform with young English players who he can captain at both club and international level, see if he can be persuaded to give it one last try.

And while we're at it, give me the manager's job.

so not that much work to be done then

I've no idea Badgers but we must start as pretty heavy favourites. If Kane wants to win trophies, let's start with this one and kick on from there.
I hear he's looking forward to going to fairs on the August bank holiday so he can win a cuddly toy at the shooting gallery. More chance there he says than of winning anything with spurs as a look at their past sixty years will tell anyone

:D You can have Greaves, but Kane vs Allen, is Henry vs Chamakh
