Tottenham Hotspur 2020-21

I like the dreads - maybe he's maturing a bit - and Sheffield United are a championship team so no lessons to be learned IMO
Agree with the Sheff Utd bit. It's not so much the performance that makes me hopeful, it's the attitude - he knew he was the best player in the middle of the park, went out and proved it. He used to be exactly like that regardless of opposition so there's enough there to give him another go against better teams, let him find his old self again.

Leicester properly shat the bed last night! 7 points ahead but we have a game in hand and play them last game - plus they have Man Utd and Chelsea before that.

Leeds away coming up - front 3 plus Dele in tandem again, this could be a cracker.

Our turn to shit the bed. Deserved for Leeds, but they should have had to be doing it from 2-1 down, Kane's disallowed goal for offside was a complete guess.

Kane's preference is to remain in the Premier League and he wants to have his future resolved before turning out for England at this summer's European Championships in June.

Kane has made no secret in recent interviews that he wants to compete for Europe's top team trophies, having found them out of his grasp at both White Hart Lane and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kane is having a good think about leaving. On the other hand, he must know his worth to Spurs in footballing terms - £150m absolute minimum*, and in this era of still Covid-inspired uncertainty even Man City would surely baulk at paying that much. I think one more season, one last chance for Spurs to match his ambition and ability.

*yes i'm aware that's ridiculous, I don't set the stupid fees involved.

£150m for Kane in this market

Given his age and injury record I would be getting Sancho or similar for less money.
Depends. Haaland is everyone's first choice for almost limitless potential, but there's only one of him and several top clubs in the market.

Barcelona or Chelsea will get Aguero. I think Man City will either get Haaland, or possibly Pep will want to show what a managerial genius he is by solving the "Aguero problem" with something no-one else saw coming, like playing Sterling or Ferran Torres as full time centrish forwards.

Man Utd are the realistic option, but they're not a guarantee of trophies by any stretch of the imagination.

you'd buy yourself a winger with a suspect attitude for 80 mill, rather than a top-class marksman and no.10, who is also a consummate professional?

Not cheap but Harland is valued at around £110-£120m. Kane at 27 years old is proven, consistent and at his peak, still has a good four years in him.For me is one of the top three strikers in Europe along with Lewandowski and Benzema both of whom are in their early 30s. OK he has some occasional injury issues but that hasn't stopped him scoring over 30 goals a season four times in the past 7 years and over 20 in the other three.

Don't think either Madrid or Barcelona have got the cash tbh , City, Chelsea or Man Utd have but I very much doubt if Levy will want him to go to Chelsea.

Like Berbatov or Bale, you really have to want to move and be ‘difficult’ to get Levy to budge, and Kane doesn’t strike me as that kind of character. Think he’ll be staying.

If I cared anymore (like after the 28th) I'd hope he'd go to Man City. But, I don't care about top-flight footy no mores.

And I really wouldn't see the Abu Dhabi group balking at 150mil for the best English striker in 2 generations. Haaland is overrated. Mbappe too. Let's see how their game changes when they lose that physical edge. You Spurs fans know what I mean, Modric is smaller than me but you couldn't buy space off him.

For me it only looks like one outcome, City. Pep has even called you the Harry Kane team which was never a slight on him. And has never been shy of showing his admiration.

well, apart from his declaration that he's had enough...

But is that enough for Levy? Get the impression you almost have to go on strike before you get what you want. Don’t get me wrong, love to see him leave Spuds, even with 150 mill it would set them back, just can’t see it.

Pep has a hell of an ego on him though, and he will be aware that the only possible slight against him is that he's a "chequebook manager". I genuinely think there's a chance he'll want to replace the club's best centre forward by using any one of Jesus, Sterling, Torres or that weird but ultimately effective lineup with De Bruyne, Silva or Foden as the focal point to an attack that constantly has 5 potential goalscorers buzzing around.

yeah but Guardiola wouldn't turn down England's best player, a player that is comfortable in many positions. Never gonna turn his nose up at that.

better than Rooney, all day

completely different player from Shearer, who was, roughly, 2 generations ago
Personally, I’d switch that, completely different to Rooney, who had twice the technique of Kane, more of a Shearer but without that nasty edge so less than Shearer, only my opinion ofc.

I look forward to Kane finally moving to a proper team, being immediately found out as not that good and spending four years warming the bench before being put out to pasture at QPR or Norwich or something.

Rooney who floated the ball onto the left-back's head, time and time again.

Rooney who was in a forward line of Ronaldo and Tevez.

Rooney who dropped back into midfield and did absolutely nothing.

Kane has both a better technique, and is a better all round player

:D

Good try, but you’re reaching.

Rooney’s the better player.
