Haha just saw this on his wiki
Glad Clarke got a good reception from the crowd, he deserves it.
Gone in sixty runs. The entire Australian first innings in just eighteen and a bit glorious overs; the story of every ball bowled as Stuart Broad takes 8-15 as England reduce the Australians to 60 all-out in the most destructive first innings in Test history: the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge; 6 August 2015.
I can't help but feel delighted that the Aussies are all turning on each other now. I also, however, do feel a bit sorry for Clarke. As captain Australia whitewashed us, won in south Africa, the west Indies and won the world cup but now they've been trounced he's suddenly an affront to everything the baggy green stands for. The amount of Aussies I've heard criticise the English press for turning on their own and now look at the ruthlessness of their press!
Ah that makes sense. It's a bloody shame if that's what it's been. There's no way Clarke deserves the shit he's been getting, he'll rightly go down as an all time great of the game.
I heard Darren Gough on the radio yesterday speculating that part of the problem with Clarke's batting may be in part down to the Phil Hughes incident, Clarke and him were best mates apparently. Clarke started without the neck guards then put them on then removed them again, it was clearly on his mind. I wouldn't be at all surprised if his confidence is completely shot, it certainly looked that way.
Clarke's a dick.
Silly twat gave it full beans every interview about this whopping chip on shoulder genuine hatred towards all things English and not flinching from the same sort of 'broken arm' language (and everything that's wrong with Cricket as a sport IMO). Nothing about the series delights me more than him going home with his tail between his legs. Fuck him.
Well he wouldn't expect any sympathy from England fans, I just think he deserves better from the aussies given his record. He's going to have a proper old fashioned slog at the Oval I reckon.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves, it's been good stuff at home this summer but we still have to see how they play elsewhere. Winter could be pretty tough.England rebuilt themselves gradually after the last ashes in Australia, and they kept some of the senior players even if they were lacking in form, notably Cook and Bell. That worked out pretty well for them.
