NUGENT: The dumbing down of America is manifested in the culture deprivation of our academia that have taught these kids the lies, media that have prodded and encouraged and provided these kids lies.
I really feel sorry for them because it’s not only ignorant and dangerously stupid, but it’s soulless. To attack the good law-abiding families of America when well known predictable murderers commit these horrors is deep in the category of soulless.
These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul
Someone should tell him once you've dug six feet down there's no need for further excavation
She is - they all are, being so fucking brave in the face of what they've experienced.This woman is... wonderful
Nugent also tried to suggest that he did not attack the Parkland students directly. He had said, “These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul.”
On Saturday, in a self-recorded video, Nugent told supporters, “I was told, coming out of a firestorm, a firestorm of guitar solo magic, that I was trending on Facebook because somehow, some dishonest, lying idiots claimed that my identifying, accurately and honestly, those in the gun control marches who call people who don’t agree with them child murderers – now if I called you a child murderer without having any evidence, that would be hate speech,” he claimed, as Media Matters reported Monday.
“So they are guilty of hate speech. I merely identified that you have to have mush for brains to accept, blindly accept, the propaganda from the gun-hating, freedom-hating, America-hating, liberal Democrat left media. And who out there believes that so much of the media – who believes CNN, anybody? MSNBC, anybody? ABC, CBS, NBC? Certainly Media Matters, really? Boy, what a hypocritical title that is. Media Matters, MoveOn.Org, Southern Poverty Law Center, the Huffington punks, who believes these people?”
Hogg Watch features multiple debunked hoaxes and smears about Hogg and other Parkland survivors. Hogg Watch has published multiple debunked smears and hoaxes attacking Hogg and other students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 kids were killed in a mass shooting in February. These include pieces:
- falsely suggesting that Hogg was a crisis actor;
- smearing Hogg as a “gun control fascist youth front man” who is an “anti-gun sociopath” and falsely claiming Hogg gave a “Nazi salute” and lauding efforts to compare Hogg to Adolf Hitler;
- calling the March for Our Lives a “‘Hitler Youth’ student gun control march” whose participants were following “in the footsteps of Nazis who disarmed the Jews before the Holocaust”; and
- pushing the false claim that Hogg may not have been at the shooting.
Russian-linked Twitter accounts have rallied around the conservative talk-show host, who has come under fire for attacking the young survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting. According to the website Hamilton 68, which tracks the spread of Russian propaganda on Twitter, the hashtag #IstandwithLaura jumped 2,800 percent in 48 hours this weekend. On Saturday night, it was the top trending hashtag among Russian campaigners.
The website botcheck.me, which tracks 1,500 “political propaganda bots,” found that @ingrahamangle, @davidhogg111 and @foxnews were among the top six Twitter handles tweeted by Russia-linked accounts this weekend. “David Hogg” and “Laura Ingraham” were the top two-word phrases being shared.
Wading into controversy is a key strategy for Russian propaganda bots, which seize on divisive issues online to sow discord in the United States. Since the Feb. 14 Parkland shooting, which claimed 17 lives, Russian bots have flooded Twitter with false information about the massacre.
I like a bit of "good news." Thank you for that.
Because she said most people avoided him due to his being racist and scary.Was only a matter of time until folk on the right started holding up the shooter as the victim and massacre survivors as the villains.
Quite! I can't find it now, but one MSD student explained the other day in a series of tweets that other students avoided Cruz because he was a violent, bully who was known to abuse animals for fun, bragged about having guns, beat up his younger brother (who is Black) and used racial slurs and threatened to rape girls and beat gays. Bear in mind he was two years older or more than all the kids who were still students at the high school, and it's a pretty unusual situ where a younger girl will bully an older boy, such is the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior pecking order in US high schools.Because she said most people avoided him due to his being racist and scary.
And funny how POC and LBTQ+ kids aren't shooting up schools considering the abuse they are disproportionately likely to receive from their peers.
A South Carolina Republican congressman is not backing down from critics after he pulled out his own personal — and loaded — .38-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun during a meeting with constituents Friday.
U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, R-Rock Hill, told The Post and Courier he pulled out the weapon and placed it on a table for several minutes in attempt to make a point that guns are only dangerous in the hands of criminals.
"I'm not going to be a Gabby Giffords," Norman said afterward, referring to the former Arizona Democratic congresswoman who was shot outside a Tucson-area grocery store during a constituent gathering in 2011.
On Monday, a sixth grade student found the gun on top of a toilet paper dispenser in the boys' locker room at Shepherd Middle School.
He immediately told his teacher. The school then called Shepherd Police Chief Luke Sawyer.
"I would say less than five minutes of finding the firearm, we found out that it belonged to the sheriff and there was no need for ... the school to go on lockdown," Sawyer said.
Sawyer said Sheriff Michael Main contacted him about the gun as soon as he learned one had been found in the school. Sawyer said Main accidentally left his backup handgun at the school over the weekend as he changed into his uniform.
Surely it's not the size it's what you do with them that counts
That's just silly. (And I admit to keeping a 9-iron next to the front door. At least a golf club has some reach).
We have a decent size baseball bat near the door - never had to use it, but I feel better with it there.
The bat came with the house

Walker was trying to walk the bus route to Rochester High School after he woke up late and missed his bus. His mom had taken his phone away, so he didn't have that with him to get directions. So he knocked on a stranger’s door for help -- and almost paid for it with his life.
"I got to the house, and I knocked on the lady's door. Then she started yelling at me and she was like, 'Why are you trying to break into my house?' I was trying to explain to her that I was trying to get directions to Rochester High. And she kept yelling at me. Then the guy came downstairs, and he grabbed the gun, I saw it and started to run. And that's when I heard the gunshot," he says.
Thankfully, the man missed. Brennan kept running, hid, then cried.
"My mom says that, black boys get shot because sometimes they don't look their age, and I don't look my age. I'm 14; but I don't look 14. I'm kind of happy that, like, I didn't become a statistic," he says in retrospect.
