My initial comment was a question rather than a claim, but you forced me into trying to recall a book I read several years ago. I don't need to provide evidence - I am not writing a dissertation. This is an informal discussion. I thought it was worth asking if i recalled correctly, but you've led me down a fruitless path that no one enjoys reading. I believe it was a reasonable thing to venture that Germany was awash with guns in the 20s and 30s, and that gun freaks are wrong to compare gun control advocates to Nazis, as Nazis were armed to the teeth.

Soz I don't see in the article where it discusses the rise of the nazis in the context of availability of firearms, which is all I asked you about. I think we may have been a bit of cross-purposes as I suspect you were talking about the freikorps while I was interested in the greater Nazi use of or availability to firearms rather after the freikorps period, so more in the 1928-33 period. It's well known pretty much all the political parties had their street fighters but afaik firearms not a huge part of that. Oh and I'm not watching a 22 minute video the first minute or two suggested not wholly germane to the point I'm interested in.

Thanks for that video - it's pretty much in line with what little I know of the situation in Germany during the post WW1 period and the 1930s.
