Its in there consitution and the NRA and millions of american belive they need guns and a vaststock pile of ammo or the Brits will comeback take there guns off them and enforce the NHS on them.

There are more than 300 million guns in the US. The genie is out of the bottle. I wish we could confiscate them all but I don't know how we'd even begin. The political support for guns is so big it's hard to describe. You can literally start a conversation anywhere and you will find tons of people who want no gun restrictions whatsoever. These people are everyfuckingwhere.

In another thread someone on here provided info showing that other countries, including European countries, have similar gun ownership laws to the USA, but a fraction of the gun crime.
I may have got some of that wrong or misunderstood but, it seems from what I have read that it's not the fact that the guns are there or citizens general entitlement to OWN one, but more a national wide (totally generalising) state of mind regarding the entitlement to USE one.
That's the problem imho. Not the existence of or amount of guns, but the collective ideal surrounding them.

I don't think there is much he can do... Guns are prolific both legal and illegal, the entire weight of the NRA and lunatics is against him. If anything is going to change it has to come from the people and they seem to be a bit 'school shootings happen sometimes' like they are normalised
