Iglesias seems to be hinting that a PPSOE-Ciudadanos coalition is reasonably likely, I wonder if that has any basis in reality at all or whether he is just trying to ensure that the PSOE base pushes Sánchez away from that

Ciudadanos have changed their 'no to a coalition of losers' policy and now are going to support the investiture of Sánchez and will attempt to get the PP to at least abstain, they will need to as Podemos would undoubtedly vote down this arrangement.

The poll I saw today had PP/PSOE up to around 30% each with Podemos down. That's what the pre-election polls said last time as well though.

This PSOE-C's pack has shown the former up for what they are. It's amazing that Podemos have done as well as they have, such are the collective interests against them.

PSOE members have approved the pact with Ciudadanos. I shouldn't be surprised I suppose, how many decent people can be left in the party?

Look how close Spain was to a PSOE-Podemos government with the PNV voting in favour and the Catalans abstaining. All scuppered by big business and their representations in the upper echelons of PSOE.

Today Sánchez is expected to try and convince Iglesias to vote yes to his investiture with Ciudadanos or at least abstain. I would be astonished if Podemos agreed to do either.

The votes are in and - as everyone expected - Pedro Sánchez has not been installed as Prime Minister.

The debate went on all day on the telly. I didn't get to see much of it but, having breakfast in a bar, I managed to see part of Pablo Iglesias' speech slagging off PP and Albert Rivera. I expect it's available on news sites or YouTube. I'm not sure Iglesias was 100% fair to Rivera when he said he has no principles apart from getting power (and that criticism is exactly what some anti-Podemos types say about Iglesias) but the speech is well worth a look if you enjoy that sort of thing.
