That was fantastic.
Ganna was phenomenal. If he could just go downhill a bit quicker…Well played MvdP. Kinda shocked by Ganna coming second.
It’s even more fun when the teams change name completely due to sponsor switching. For the casual cycling fan like me (whatever's on ITV4 or Quest) it's somewhat surprising to enter into a new season and see who's moved teams. I've just looked at the Giro line-up, and had no idea Cav had moved to Astana.
The Belgians are really confusing at that kind of thing. Deceuninck who used to be the primary sponsor of Quickstep are now the secondary sponsor of Alpecin and Soudal who for many years was the secondary sponsor of Lotto are now the main sponsor of Quickstep. It’s even more fun when the teams change name completely due to sponsor switching.
Still trying to catch up with the young Brits who are now on the pro circuit. For the casual cycling fan like me (whatever's on ITV4 or Quest) it's somewhat surprising to enter into a new season and see who's moved teams. I've just looked at the Giro line-up, and had no idea Cav had moved to Astana.
Stats galore!Still trying to catch up with the young Brits who are now on the pro circuit.
I'm just about to catch up with this one.For those who love rainy, windy classics, Brugge-De Panne is worth tuning into.
defo wet and windy. good fun to watch.I'm just about to catch up with this one.
I thought it might have turned out better but weird tactics from Quickstep kind of handed the win on a plate. I love races in weather like that.defo wet and windy. good fun to watch.
Yes, this. It's a complete headfuck every year. The Belgians are really confusing at that kind of thing. Deceuninck who used to be the primary sponsor of Quickstep are now the secondary sponsor of Alpecin and Soudal who for many years was the secondary sponsor of Lotto are now the main sponsor of Quickstep.
Also in the 2010s Omega Pharma headline sponsored Lotto and then switched to Quickstep.
They’re really not the classics team they used to be, are they? Presumably chucking most of their efforts behind Remco for GC duties…Not a great day for a Quickstep fan though.
pog gave it a good go trying to lose the other two on one of the cobbled hill sections but it wasnt long enough. Great to see the 3 of them battling it out.Great E3 even though the wheelsucker won and then a quick switch over for a dramatic mountain top finish at Catalunya.
Not a great day for a Quickstep fan though.
I know Van Aert rode smart but I want to see action and will always cheer for those who provide it. Hope he gets outdone at RVV unless of course he attacks and then that's fair play but somehow I doubt it.pog gave it a good go trying to lose the other two on one of the cobbled hill sections but it wasnt long enough. agreed. I love pogs racing attitude. he's never afraid to have a go. he seems a nicer chap than WVA.I know Van Aert rode smart but I want to see action and will always cheer for those who provide it. boring boring boring. I turned over to watch the women's race.
that was the most powerful mountain finish I've seen in a while. It seemed like a sprint at the bottom of the climb.Great E3 even though the wheelsucker won and then a quick switch over for a dramatic mountain top finish at Catalunya.

Really want to go to that region nr Tortosa with Mont Caro. Here's the route
Roglic has had so much bad luck but now he seems tactically and physically better.
let's hope everyone else can get there act together to stop the JV boys. The Vlaanderen is looking like fun and is shaping up to be a great race.
