Pro Cycling 2023

The formation of the breakaway has been the most exciting thing this Giro. I think the race might be remembered more for the likes of Healy, Gee, Denz than whoever wins it.
There's still time I suppose.

Also Sivakov abandoned. Ineos really understrength now.
It was nice to see a bit of mild chaos, with all the tunnels fucking with the teams radios, them clearly not quite knowing what the gaps were, who was where etc

Has he just suffered the commentators curse? " The performance of a GC winner" they said.
In the last K or so I thought he was playing games and faking it.
A fast day for sprinters tomorrow which could spell trouble for some.

On paper tomorrow is an easy day for the GC. Just stay safe, get to 3km, job done.

Problem is, most teams are fairly reduced now, so all it will take is a bit of crosswind and/or some determined breakaway riders to make for a difficult day.

There in lies part of gees problem. Only 6 left.

Ha, Healy keeps stirring shit up. Pinot's managing to stick with him though.

EF/Pinot drama continues...
This damn race should be decided on points (sprinting/mountain/aggression) rather than the concept of time and we'd have deserved podium of Gee, Healy and Denz.
But what can we expect from a GC where the three leaders are known throughout their careers for being ultra cautious?

Rather than the rider who actually completes it in least time? Interesting concept.

It was kind of an offhand comment but this has been such a dull Giro and Healy and Gee are the real winners as far as racing is concerned.

Never been a fan of Thomas (racing style or personality) but hope he wins now as Roglic kills racing. He's a full eight man team and did f-all til the last 1km.

Can Roglic take enough time out of G over just 14k to win?
Yeah, the gaps could be massive but I hope not. Have absolutely no time for Roglic and the last straw was riding into Fred Wright at the Vuelta and blaming not just Fred but the bike-handling of all the young riders in the peloton. That's rich coming from a ski jumper who has probably less bike experience than most of the elite under 23s. And don't start me on that No Risk No Glory bullshit merchandise range he has. The guy would get a nosebleed if he attacked before the flame rouge. Rant over.

I hadn't seen the profile of the TT tomorrow! Hope G can hang on, but its gonna be interesting!

The bookies can't decide. They have Roglic as favourite to win the ITT but Thomas to win the Giro.
The cycling forum I'm on is full of Roglic fans and they've been doing my nut in. Hope they're disappointed tomorrow but they've already made heaps of excuses such as returning from injury (that time he rode into Fred Wright) and losing key members of his team to Covid prior to the race (yet forgetting that Jumbo still has a full team whereas Inseos has half a one).

Roglic was on fire at Tirreno & Catalunya so Expected more at the Giro. He’s produced spectacular climb performances late at the Vuelta but no idea how today will turn out. Thomas looks solid.
