Israeli forces storm Gaza aid ship, and beat people on board. Fatalities reported.

It certainly would but that government wouldn't put themselves on the line like that.

Done it (or certainly not dissimilar things on the diplomatic front) before, could well do it again. Public opinion would certainly be behind them, and don't forget that the current Turkish government is busy turning away from the EU/US and realigning with the Middle East. Show me a better way to prove your leadership credentials.

Israeli Government and Moldovan Education Ministry jointly run a school to prepare children for aliyah.

Thanks Israel, thanks a lot  Clearly rebuilding a once thriving community isn't in your interest.

What makes me sick is that israel's behaviour towards jewish communities so clearly benefits anti-semites. Dont like being discriminated against? Dont like being arrested for doing jewish things? Dont like being torured and killed? Fuck off then to israel you dirty fucking kike

a link supporting your claims about the eu and us would be better than some us-encouraged foray.

Israel has a conscript army, essentially the might of the IDF is a bunch of middle class kids hyped to fuck, which is why fuck ups like this happen so often Israel has learnt to live with them

doesnt always work though, in Lebanon the kids refused to engage and thats why the invasion failed

I wouldn't imagine the murderers storming that boat were conscript. Normal PBI, sure, but those were 'professional' special forces.

I doubt that for at least part of the "raid" - you would think anyone with that level of training would not have let troops abseil, one-by-one, into a very angry and fully awake mob (which is what happens in the clip currently on the BBC).

swap the 2 peoples positions and attitudes around and see if the Israeli argument and behaviour still holds water.

The people who back Israel are the same sort of people who back in time would have applauded the genocide of the north american indians on the basis that "they were savages and land they lived on didn't belong to them"

Regev on News 24 now claiming that the Israelis had their arms stolen off them, and that this proves the "hardcore protestors" were violent and expecting trouble. No doubt the claim that the dead were shot by their own side will be along shortly.

He now claims the Israeli system of military justice compares with the British or Canadian system.

yeh. cos you do know the cia were with the turkish forces at the invasion of cyprus, don't you?

I didn't know that, tbh. I'm not sure that it necessarily detracts from my point, though. The EU and UN opposed Turkeys actions, and the consequences of them still colour Turkeys EU accession talks to this day ( although the recent ballots etc showed the majority of Turkish Cypriots in favour of talks, and the majority of Greek Cypriots against).
My point is that it would not be out of charactor for the Turkish regime to carry actions of this kind out.

there was no eu in 1974

Sky news just showed the London protest with what looked like a couple of thousand there already, i could have sworn i heard the reporter say there are what look like 200!, unless i misheard wtf.

Regev finishes off his appearance on News 24 by claiming that there is no humanitarian crisis on Gaza, because they have chocolate and Korean air conditioning.

It is more the Armenian genocide that has been an obstacle for Turkey joining the EU. That and the Kurds, dodgy human rights, etc.

Regev: ''check your facts before blah blah blah''
Newsreader: ''I was quoting what Ban Ki-Moon said himself''

I dont think that any specific type was mentioned, though that may be because I was still laughing at his insistence that the IDF had never denied using white phosphorous.
cos there's quite a difference between the cheap stuff shuffled off on kids in chocolate money and the good stuff, you know.
