Hamas/Israel conflict: news and discussion

I was merely pointing out that yet again it's another case of misreporting.
It's the same case of reporting that the rest of us have read/heard, and it's still not been confirmed whether it's false/inaccurate yet. To say it's lies or misreporting at this point only serves to further the aims of those who want to minimise the actions of Hamas.

An Israeli woman being interviewed on BBC now, says she's always been for peace talks and diplomacy to sort problems out with this situation but on Saturday her DNA changed and now she won't criticise whatever actions the IDF need to take now, she'll support whatever happens.

Absolutely grim but predictable result.

The military will only be able to do so much. How can they tell if someone is Hamas?

But isn't this 'war for survival' exactly what 'both sides' claim, so just replicating that is just dismal and gives us no paths out of this at all?

To claim it's 'plain reality' and that you're not being emotional or analysing it is just nonsense.

Honestly thought this was undeniable now. No electricity, no hospitals, no water coming in, Red Cross have just reported 3 out of 5 of Gaza's water plants have been taken out and dirty water has been a problem for years now anyway. We need to get some clarity about what is happening.

It is clear. The zionists are imposing a collective punishment on gaza designed to kill many thousands. 97% of the water in gaza - what remains - isn't potable. People in reasonable health die after 3 days without water. Children and old people - and the rest of the gaza population - are in very dire straits. Hundreds of children have been killed by the bombing already. You may not get up to the minute info but yeh we know what's happening

At the moment I think they frankly just don't give a shit. Apparently the US and Egypt have been in talks with Israel about the possibility of the humanitarian corridor and/or letting obvious non-combatants flee to Egypt (presumably Egypt will be collecting markers to be cashed in for future favours).

Egypt's already ruled out this "flee to Egypt" idea - correctly recognizing that those who flee will never be allowed back.

the only 'obvious non-combatants' for Israel are dead bodies

And Israel Katz's (energy and water minister) various statements leave very little room for... anything other than the perpetuation of this... tbh.

Today
Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electrical switch will be turned on, no water hydrant will be opened and no fuel truck will enter until the Israeli abductees are returned home. Humanitarian for humanitarian. And no one will preach us morals.

Yesterday
For years we supplied Gaza with electricity, water and fuel. Instead of saying thank you, they sent thousands of human animals to slaughter, murder, rape and kidnap babies, women and the elderly - that's why we decided to stop the flow of water, electricity and fuel and now their local power station has collapsed and there is no electricity in Gaza. We will continue to tighten the siege until the Hamas threat to Israel and the world is removed. What was will not be.

10th
So far we have transferred 54,000 cubic meters of water and 2,700 megawatts of electricity to Gaza per day. Ends. Without fuel, even the local electricity will shut down within days and the pumping wells will stop within a week. This is how he will do to a nation of murderers and butchers of children. What was will not be.

Machine translated (may not be accurate) from his twitter.

e2a: ah, see your own post just upthread

Easy, if they run they are Hamas if they stand still they are well trained Hamas:(
A lot of Israeli squaddies will be looking for payback :(Hamas have really ratched up the atrocity meter imagine if the IRAhad gone on a killing spree at Glastonbury this is the sort of shock Israel is thinking at the moment when the troops go in it's going to be proper dark. Hamas leadership is safe in Quatar cunts:mad:

You're right it did didn't it? but one presumes the Yanks might be offering them something. I don't know about not being allowed back, if I was one of them I wouldn't want to go back which I suspect would make Egypt even less enthusiastic. Beside how many will Egypt allow out? I can't see them letting out a million and being stuck with them so maybe just Yousaf Hamra's in-laws and other Palestinians with connections that can go somewhere else.

I’m trying to recollect the tactics of the IDF the last time they attacked Gaza from the ground. My memory is that the IDF bombed Gaza for days then shelled whole districts, razing them to the ground but ground troops didn’t stay long before they left proclaiming success.

IDF are pretty shit military. Young unmotivated conscripts . The worst type of combat is house to house. Gaza is booby trapped and Hamas use tactics like a row of houses with broken down walls so you can run along them. Open fire and then run down to the end of the row. Loads of tactics.
In the unlikely event the IDF achieved subjugation of Gaza that way their casualties would be massive hence the use of indiscriminate bombing which is as much for effect.
Even the Russians despite western propaganda didn’t indiscriminately bomb like that.

Still enjoy Urban but I’m surprised how Urban has changed. I always remember a lot of graphic coverage on here from 2014 showing AZOV attacking the Union Building which was full of Ukro leftists. It really was horrendous and obviously the Right Sector were heavily criticised on here.
so many people on here lap up the western narrative.

Remind me how the conflict in Ireland ended despite the killing sprees on all sides.

WTF are you dribbling on about?

That's exactly what Russia has done over many years, most recently in Ukraine, which has not only been reported by western media, but Russian Telegraph channels too.

Yeah, Hamas probably are acting in concert with Tehran, but the idea that would willingly sacrifice themselves for Iranian foreign policy goals alone is just silly. They must have at least some reason to believe that they can be victorious (even at a horrific price for the civilian population).

E2A: the IDF conscripts are going to be pretty bloody motivated now, though.

And they're talking about this going on for months.
