Hamas/Israel conflict: news and discussion

Just hope that at the very least on Wednesday Lanny or better Starmer will be encouraged to condemn the stance that Trump is now adopting and his disgusting terminology

David Lammy is off in Sudan. With a straight face he's going on about a hierarchy of conflict. Comes across as a dig at those who've been out protesting about Palestine.

When it comes to a hierarchy of conflict David Lammy blatant prioritising of Ukraine over Palestine says there is a hierarchy of conflict. Been obvious from the start. It's seen on his X posts.

I can't read his Independent article as it's behind a pay wall.

Well he didn't wake up to the humanitarian catastrophy in Gaza. I didn't see much action on that from Foreign secretary David Lammy.

Weird. I could read it no problem. He mentions Gaza right at the like it's almost an afterthought. I will post an archived version of it on the Sudan thread.

The way David Lammy goes on reminds me of some one of my Labour Cllrs. Sort of tactics he uses are similar. Even if it is in my case about local issues. After months of complaining about something suddenly my Labour Cllr turns up to meeting saying he not only agrees but goes further. Then I get a lecture. Typical labour party In long term nothing may change but he's still made out he's the proper radical thinker.

Do Labour party run courses on how to do this?

When faced with the resident awkward squad. Deal with it by going further than them. Even though six months later said member of awkward squad will pop up to say nothing has changed.

It's about dealing with perception and undermining in shallow way counter viewpoints

Yes its a good thing the adults are in charge not the "amateur left" as they have have done such a great job stopping Genocide in Gaza.

Biden, Lammy and Starmer definitely not the "amateur left" .
Can’t imagine the amateur left doing a better job of governing this country…

Wow:

'Despite death, destruction, and collective punishment hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians return to their destroyed neighborhoods in North Gaza, defeating the Israeli government’s efforts to conduct ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip.Thousands of Palestinians finally reunified with their families. They return to their destroyed homes fully determined to rebuild their lives and their future of freedom.'

I thought the IDF was stopping the Palestinians from going north because of Hamas's failure to release a female hostage Arbel Yehud but according to this below it has been resolved:
