Glastonbury 2014

packing was remarkably easy and makes me think I've forgotten something. I've got clothes, booze etc, toiletries, bit of food, waterproofs and my friend has the tent. what else are people bringing?

Sounds like enough. Don't forget suntan lotion and spare socks.

yeah need lotion actually.

what's it like bringing kids, out of interest? Do you have to stay in the kids area or can you drop them off for a while?

It's fun. It doesn't work at Glastonbury if we are both working full time so we either job share or one of us has a year off, this year it's my turn so I look after the kids whilst he works. Tbh it is a communal affair, my parents come and various of rabbits friends and relations have the kids for a while.

It takes a bit of planning, fortunately at Glastonbury although the kidz field is a wonderful thing it's not the only thing, so I don't have to spend my whole life in there. It is useful though, there's support for small babies, the NCT has a feeding/bathing/chill out area.

Heat can be a problem, and everyone falls out at least once a day but it's still rewarding.

Seeing the festival through Wervs eyes is a completely different experience :)

Our camp is set up. It's in L32 where the path goes through the hedge (it's a crew gate). We are on the right hand side in front of the hedge. You are welcome to visit.

Sleeping bag and a bed/mat of some ilk?

I chose not to go this year but reading a few glasto articles all I can say is "Bugger I'm not going"

Enjoy yourselves! :D

Giving dust level reports when it's looking damp where I am?!

Watch it be dry right up till I queue then muddy once I'm in.

I'll bring the sun lotion with optimism.

Leaving Surrey around 8am Wednesday and aiming to camp in South Park, is there a route that swings us round onto the West side of the site without hitting the queues into the East side?

Also, what are the chances of South Park being full by then? (only ever camped in Hitchin Hill previously and that's always been slow to fill up)

South Park (good choice ;)) should be fine, unless people have started to cotton on to it this year. Might be affected by re-located Arcadia knock on effect.

Do you mean Park Home ground? If so, be warned that a lot has been taken up by Arcadia as that's moved up there this year.

My sat nav isn't charged so I can't check but google a west pennard postcode, that has always got me straight to the west car parks.

Ignore me, it's not the field I was thinking of. South Park should be fine.

South Park still had space for a few tents on the Thursday lunchtime last year so you should be fine. Great views of the site from up there but it's on a bit of a slope, although if you've been on Hitchin Hill before you'll be used to that.

Very jealous of you all and have an amazing time! I can wholeheartedly recommend Dolly Parton and also Metallica as unmissably brilliant, but you already knew that. Dont risk missing either to see some obscure rave thing ma jig, you'll regret it!

I picked up a huge nail in my tyre tonight, this could delay my arrival and deprive me of beer money. Not happy!
