Glastonbury 2009

Safest camping on site I'd say, assuming you mean the Family or Disabled bits there. Almost impossible for theives to work without being noticed.

I'm starting to be a bit girly wuss and wondering if going alone to a festie that has 120,000 people at it was such a wise move after all. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Is it quite safe do you think? Compared to other areas.

Like Paolo says Spring Ground is all fenced off with stewards at the gates of the disabled bit and they seem to be an awful lot sharper about only letting families in than they are in Cockmill Meadow.

Hey don't fret - 120,000 people implies a lot of new potential friends. You'll be fine, and if your not PM me and I'll drop you me number.

Have a good festival!!

You have my number, use it! If you're having a lonely moment just fuckin text me and see where I'm at...

Have we sorted anything for a sign for the meet yet btw? Otherwise have spray paint and card, and will do a 'baby eating anarchists' sign if needs be!

Thanks :) What would be good for me is if people are going to some of the same gigs so I'm not watching something really good on my own :hmm:

Apart from Tom Jones - I'm on my own with that one I think :D

DO IT!!

Also, tell me what time the bloody meet at the cider bus is on Thursday. Cider on Thursday sounds like a good plan

Oh and we're coming on Weds night now. I actually took Penni's advice and booked the kid out of school for 'family reasons' for two days. I'm going to say Uncles funeral if pressed :hmm:

It pisses me off that people have to do that. What a brilliant experience for kids at the 'expense' of a couple of days off school.

Will I do instead? :D

You got my new number didn't you? Everyone from urban I texted on sunday replied, 'Who is this?'

That was aimed at you Madz :D

look I'm getting really REALLY excited now.

I have found my homemade flag/banner - it's green with 2 big white cats and pink hearts and it says 'LOVECATS' - I'm going to bring it with me :D

I'm going to pick up my new camping table to the way to my MRI scan :D Then I might get a bit excited. I've been cutting out fabric for my glastofrocks (that I'll probably chicken out of wearing  )

I still haven't finished my dress that I was making for last year  it's too difficult to get the fit right, so I'll give up on that for now :D

hope it all goes well at the hospital madz :)

Pronk!

Are all the Info stalls open on the Wednesday this year then? When I worked on West it didn't open until Thursday morning.

West, Gate, Ford and Pyramid definitely are... And I guess Park & Green will be too.

Good for getting a shift out of the way :)

my ticket has finally arrived :D my car park pass tells me to follow the yellow route, does this lead to normal parking, or is it just for staff? can't find much about it on the glastonbury website, on there it talks about blue and orange routes.

I'm spending weekend sewing too - I'm teaching tomorrow but then it's all systems Glasto! :D

Yellow feeds in from Red.

If you want to see it in more detail, get the map from www.glastoearth.com

(You'll need to install Google Earth to see it... There's a link for that on the map page)

Started to look at what acts we are free to see outside our shifts and some of those choices are fantastic ....

Can't bloody wait, getting really excited, we leave for Glastonbury (town) on Saturday and will be on site from Monday

Got some bad news mate.

I've looked at our shifts and realised one of them clashes with East 17. I know it would be terrible to let the team down, but sometimes one has to make tough decisions. We'll get blacklisted, but hey...

...I mean, Stay Another Day? Releasing a Christmas single and deftly adding chime bells. It's artistic genius and sacrifices have to be made for that.

See you outside the Dance lounge on Thursday.

PS Can you please bring my old copies of Smash Hits. You've had them for ages. Thanks.

 :p

I was mildly nervous about when our working tickets would arrive, but paolo has assured me that they're all being posted out by the Info People today .... :)

So tomorrow or Friday we should be all ticketed up, a little bit close to the wire as we leave here on Saturday morning, but I'm not worried ..... much :p

I see Tom Jones is being roundly condemned by a fair few in this thread.

Debbie wants to see him though. I'm sort of erm curious too, but will be going along 'openmindedly'.

'Openmindledly' enough to make a swift exit to the Cider Bus if needed :D
