Glastonbury 2009

And you've set Belboid off on it now too.

This is Urban 75. You're meant to be face down in a ketamine trauma, not making cups of tea.

SORT YOURSELF OUT.

I shall be taking more than one book and possibly my needlepoint AND knitting. :D

Have you not seen the knitting threads in Suburban?

i've got a ridiculous question. can pregnant ladies take non- alcoholic beer into the arena in glass bottles? surely you must get some kind of get- out- jail free card for being up the stick. i'm asking for my sister, who is hellz pissed off that she can't even drink pretend beer and will have to drink elderflower cordial all weekend because they don't sell pretend beer in cans.

eta: not that i care really. i don't really want her to have any fun anyway. i don't want any of you to have fun. i hope that halfway through blur's set a massive black cloud hangs over the entire site which then proceeds to rain frogs and blood on your unsuspecting heathen heads.

:D

Don't they do Kaliber in cans?

apparently, as pretend beers go, the only thing kaliber is good for is making you do a pretend vomit. cobra and becks are the pretend beers of choice, and both them come encased in glass.

its not like reading - there isn't an arena and separate camping. So as long as you get the bottles in the gate and dispose of the glass properly don't see it would be an issue

I've been edumacated on this thread and now realise how desirable a table is. I was downplaying it just in case like, you can't be too careful.
It's desirable if you have a fucked up knee and painful joints which are made ten times worse by sleeping in a tent and getting in and out of a tent is going to be hard enough without sitting on wet grass of a morning to have a cup of tea.

I'm not saying everyone else has to have one :)

Maybe if you are discrete. The only time I've seen someone with glass in their hand, 10 seconds later a group of stewards had it and it went straight in a bin with no discussion.

Anyway, what's a veteran like you doing encouraging glass? Next thing you'll be digging holes and bunking people in for a tenner a go. "Yeah mate - you wanna go see 'dodgy Wiskey'" :)

:D but :( that you're not coming.

your tea service was closer to my tent to my current set up, but they do win I'm afraid, they cook me dinner every night too :D

Is that because you're working? Yes, I have to concede defeat there. Fetching much-needed tea with a hangover is one of my skills. Cooking? Nah. You've gotta draw a line somewhere, like.

Has anyone got a campervan field pass they want to sell? Or do you know if you can still get them on arrival at the Blue gate again this year?

(I think the rule is good... cos' no matter how careful anyone is, droppages can happen. Then there's that baad cow-glass fusion thing. Or person-glass. Or child-glass. Boring finger wagging over ;) )

I've always thought it was a bit short sighted of them to presume that nobody is going to bring glass and not put any bins for it. I can't remember which festival I was at last year but it also had a no glass rule but they'd put bins out and they were half full. People will bring glass, you might as well let them dispose of it.

a mate pulled out photos (actual photos ) of the last time we were at glasto in 2000, got me right in the mood :D

once the work is done, sheer fucking carnage will ensue. :D:D:D

I am not going
It is not as good as it used to be
Mumble, grumble, mumble, grumble, mumble, etc....

Maybe the thinking is that if people see bins labelled for glass, that it will encourage them to bring it?

(I edited my post btw... thought I was being a bit school teacherish... but now it's quoted I'll have to live with it. "Paolo999 glass lecture". That'll be what people call me. :( :) )

Unlike car park stickers you can't just pitch up & buy a campervan pass as there's only a limited amount of space. I've seen a few offers on various boards. Suggest you have a look on efestivals or virtual festivals.
