Glastonbury 2009

we'll be in cockmills.

we have a green flag with a troll on it. We'll be the first group there so once you;ve set up come looking :)

We've got a welsh flag :) there will probably be something written on it soon Ill be there with Mysterygirl and probably Pennmania and a few others:)

you're going to have to remain hating me cos I'm not doing that role this year. Instead I'm oxfamming for the first time so that I get all my shifts done by wednesday and can doss about after that :p

All done by Wednesday?

Definitely hating you now :)

'one' of them? how many do you need?

It's a big place! :D

Last year we had 4 (between friends), probably about the same this year. Plus 'home' in the oxfam field with my big 4man-er and cooking equipment, nice too for when the rain sets in or you need an hours peace. I can't recommend it enough, the only akward bit is going round taking them all down at the end... If you leave nothing but a rollmat and a bottle of water, make sure you go out with enough clothes/blankets to sleep in, they're a very handy quick retreat.
Like I said before, it always nice to get notes and little presents from friends you haven't seen for a day or two....

:)

Off to the farm tomorrow, for a day*. Excited? OMG Yes!

*Clarification this year, because last year JTG started "The Thread That's Already Left for Glastonbury", and was most disgruntled when I then came back the same day. :D

God alone knows why (as I'm not going) but I've been checking the Glastonbury weather forecasts of late, too. Seems to be improving. MetCheck's showing a few sunny icons and just a few showers now. A week ago it was meant to be solid rain. I've got my fingers crossed for you all.

Everything's on the very much up right now, weatherwise, on recent updates. JACKONE's latest update on netweather.tv (Glastonbury forecast thread on the Summer forum, you'll have to seek it out) looks  x 10,000

<buttons it :p >

Yes - I have literally just been checking it out

but I think I will keep quiet too ;)

I'm at the farm, getting sun burnt!

It's sooo sunny today. Bone dry site. Shangri-La looks like it's going to be amazing, if their plan comes off.

Michael is his normal jolly self, not looking stressed like he was last year, talking about ticket sales.

I covered about a third of the site before lunch, now about to have a whip round up to Stone Circle, over to the Park, then to the pub!

Doh! I finally geddit that me and wiskey are on the same shift with oxfam - having never learned wiskey's real name I failed to connect it to the squad list I got sent by oxfam. I also failed to geddit despite exchanging pm's with wiskey yesterday. Double Fail.

Have Status Quo arrived?

OMG I'm so tired. My photees are crawling up on to the web right now.

Not one for superstition but I'm sensing a good one this year. All sorts of good things.

WoW: Sorry I couldn't call back today but it's basically a mix of mid-days and evenings. No back to backs.

Will give you the detail tomoz.

Lovely buzz on site today. Just as we were hiking out, we stumbled across Phil the infrastructure manager, working on the new reservoir... AWESOME kit. He showed us the pump room.

He said they'd got a 'category 5' rating, the highest quality for drinking water you can get. It's effing shiny gear down there, million litres capacity...

Infinite geekery... just looking forward now to the main event.

Tipski folks: If they can make their thing plan work, Shangri-La.... I can't ruin the surprise but it sounds, just maybe, jaw dropping.

Well, you have to don't you... :)

Aren't we all full of contradictions? I "hate kids" but have always camped in Cockmill. And I saw this today and it made me smile.

Tort will soooo kill me for using this... my excuse is that a mutual friend tipped me off on the angle. But it's Tort's shot really. Just done again. :D
