Glastonbury 2009

Has anybody got their oxfam stuff?

Cos we filled two postboxes on wednesday with the letters :D (((postie)))

If anyone wants a bit of a sneak preview of what Neil Young might be like, ITV2 are showing highlights of the Isle of Wight festival over the weekend. Neil Young's on Sunday night along with the Pixies. 10pm.

Don't worry I don't expect you to come and hold the tarp in place if they don't turn up :D

Tarp tape is pretty good, though I'm sick of the sight of the stuff having used vast amounts of it to stick geodome lids together. Still good though.

I've never seen the attraction myself.

Me neither. I camped there in 2007 - mistake!

It seems to be MILES from anywhere and takes forever to get there - especially when laden and/or tired.

Also, time it wrong at night-time and even though you can SEE your tent from the railway track, the stewards force you to walk all the way to the far end of the track and back through LV/Trash City just for the sake of about 100 yards (OK in retrospect going up via the Strummer Stone would have been a better option, but I was tired and not thinking straight).

Plus you get the 24/7 noise from LV (bit of a given really, but there was very little let-up).

So what are the plus-points of Dragon over, say, Pennards? Both are close to the Stone Circle and Greenfields.

Perhaps I just don't "get" Dragon?

well dragon does at least have some soul rather than just being a wasteland of tents (although thats improved since the park)

Dunno, it doesn't feel like a vast festival when your camped there, its a bit more intimate. Lots of green and trees.

Its a bit steep but only if your 1/2 way up.

thing about pennards (was) that its a long way from anything to eat/cuppa tea/CAKE!

But last year we did have toast in the Park

I stuck one of my crash tents in dragon last year, right at the bottom of the hill just behind the hedge opposite the airplane bar thingy... It was easy to find when everything had gone to a haze... gonna aim a bit higher up the slope this year, just in case we get a bit of moisture... ;)

God alone knows why (as I'm not going) but I've been checking the Glastonbury weather forecasts of late, too. Seems to be improving. MetCheck's showing a few sunny icons and just a few showers now. A week ago it was meant to be solid rain. I've got my fingers crossed for you all.

just found out my mate is running a stage/tent in the shangri la field- 24 hour music. if you're looking for something to dance to after hours myself and another too up sound system regular will be taking to the decks.

I'M PLAYING AT GLASTONBURY MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

you're going to have to remain hating me cos I'm not doing that role this year. Instead I'm oxfamming for the first time so that I get all my shifts done by wednesday and can doss about after that :p
