Glastonbury 2009

everyone cool calls it the dragon field.

I like it, its near all the hippy fields and stone circle which is good for wondering through in haze, its not that busy so no problem sleeping, not likely to flood.

Last time I camped there a spring popped up in the middle of the field and you had to take your life into your hands just getting onto the track. Tis lovely though but gets mobbed out very quickly on the wednesday morning so I'm probably going to be next door in William's Field this year where there's likely to be a bit more space.

My attendance in the dragon field is entirely down to the weather reports for the weekend on the Tuesday.

That sounds ominous. what the FUCK do you mean about the weather reports?

Do I want to know?

Am I going to have to kick the fucking weather's face off?

Um..

I'm there from the Sat 20th so will be in the Oxfam field till Tuesday. I've a 4 man tent but reluctant to pitch that twice so use my small one (unless its raining). If its going to be nice i'll pitch it on the Tuesday where ever I fancy. If its not then I'll pitch it in the oxfam field which will be nicer as its faily flat on the crest of a hill.

Plan may change at the last moment.

It's just started monsooning in Bristol, let's hope it stops.

To be fair though, the forecast has said rain for yonks now, and this is the first time it's really happened.

2007? Dragon path was a nightmare that year; worst on site. Took me like 30+mins to traverse that short distance. Most dangerous route on site.

I'm going back to Williams this year I think.

cheers to both.

i keep meaning to have a look round that glasto earth thingy, ill get time later this evening to have a gander.

edit to add, any one know were the wbc workers are going to be imprisoned?

There was talk of it being behind Dreamtime, i.e. adjacent to the 'interstage area' between Other and Pyramid. But that segment of a field looks too small.

My assumption was that they'd be on the west of the dairy unit, in the crew area that's inside the expanded fenceline.

Announced earlier today... Climate Camp will be in Dragon this year. Some space marked off for their set up, the rest remaining as public camping. Looks like there'll be entertainment alongside the education/awareness stuff.

Looks like Williams will be a better choice then, it's going to be even more of a rush to get into Dragon.

Whens the urban meet?

I'm working midnight to 8am monday, 0800-15:00 tuesday and 15:00-23:00 wed.

So if its wed night I can't come :(

the one slightly above the dragon field right next to shangrila?(kinda looks like a right angled triangle)

thought that was still dragon field.
