Glastonbury 2008

I know. Hobbs used to just fish out a couple of spares from his drawer for things like that but he's retired now. :(

I can honestly say I have never felt so relaxed as when I had my MRI, they are a beautiful thing.

Yeh, when I had my endoscopy i remember fuck all but it was lovely

Glancing up at the TV news (the sound was off) I thought "Oh that's Glastonbury. Looks sunny." Then I realised it was actually a report about a refugee camp somewhere

I'm tucked up in Cockmill. An hour ago the site had that familiar 'thump thump' sound, but it's nearly silent now. We're lockdown now apparently. Gates ooopen in 5 hours :)

Oooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D :D It's here.

Just waiting for me bezzer so we can cram all our stuff in her tiny fiesta  and we're off.

Metcheck is now showing the best forecast that has been up the entire month , I wish I was going to be there earlier , I can almost taste the Cider.

"All these lovely fields, lovely music, lovely people. It can't go wrong"

It started raining 30 mins after the gates opened.

But it's stopped now. :)

There's nowhere I'd rather be right now than here. Have a good journey folks. It's still looking lush. :)

Just got a text from my mate; he's lost a shoe, spilt vodka and orange all over his new combats and necked most of his shrooms  He has, however, got his tent up.

He finishes his text; "I got 99 problems but my pitch ain't one" :D

I'd be up for a family meet, if I ever manage to procreate.:)

me and the sprog and my mate and her sprog are planning to come up friday lunchtime!!!!!!!

Any mob numbers of those that dont mind meeting up- i could do with some faces .....

Gutted - our kids are ill and they are currently projectile vomiting so we're having to delay our arrival. :(

If they're not much better by tomorrow a.m. then one of us is not going to be able go.... and that's not me :) :hmm:

Hi folks

I may be about to lose my Glastonbury virginity this weekend but need some pointers

Basically, my mate has been on site for over a week building stuff and has blagged a freebie pass, saying that all I need to do is get my arse on a train to Castle Carey and get the shuttle bus to such and such a gate where he will meet me

On the website it says I need a festival ticket to get on the shuttle bus, but as I have never been before, I have no idea how strict they are with this sort of thing. Not sure whether I shall go Friday night or Saturday morning

Will I be turned away as a chancer, or will I be allowed on the bus?

The phonelines are not being answered so I can't find out via official channels

Quite looking forward to just tipping up in the clothes I stand in for two days of wrecked in a field I have never been to before

Any info appreciated

Ta

:)

I'm no expert but I think you will need a ticket. I've had to show mine before to get on the bus.

You could try and get a taxi, but i'm 90% sure it won't be allowed to drop you at the bus gate.

basically if you wanna go, i would just try and get hold of a map of the site, hop on the train and see whether you can blag yourself onto the bus, if not then walk/taxi/hitch. you'll get there sooner or later.

Hmmm doesn't seem quite so easy and free spirited a plan as I thought it would be

How do folks deal with picking tickets up from mates at the gates usually?

Some people must have to do this, and without reference numbers as well?

Any more info appreciated

Ta

:)

I was gonna say, surely you could just say you were meeting people there with your ticket?

Smile nicely and be polite and I'm sure you'll get on. I can never remember showing my ticket before on the bus!

Have fun!
