Glastonbury 2008

It's a solid line-up, but there's nothing special about it. Glastonbury normally has something that no other festival can offer, I can't see that here.

Yes its to be found everywhere else on the site.
the Avalon Stage, Cabaret tent, Small world (my favourite), circus stages, spiritual readings in the tepee at the sauna tent, at 4am watching a band perform bollock naked somewhere in the green fields, drumming but the stone circle.

Role on the best festival ever.

Well of those names the only ones I will definitely try and see are Jay Z, Leonard Cohen, Spiritualized and Elbow. I'm sure there'll be other excellent entertainment on the smaller stages

Btw - James Blunt :confused: Fucks sake - people getting all het up about Jay Z when it turns out that annoying fuckwit is playing

Not forgetting Will Young and Katie Melua!!

they're as immature (as 'Dogburger' elsewhere pointed out) as football fans demanding the manager's sacking after a couole of indifferent results.

Spoken like someone who was prolly on the phone one minute aftert tickets went on sale and is now prolly regretting it.

In response to your football manager reference, booking Will Young, Blunty and Katie Melua (tho i still dont quite believe Eavis.com has done this) is akin to Fergie signing James Beattie, Joey Barton and Jermaine Pennant. Ie, yes, i'd be callling for the sack.

I've looked through The Guardian's Line-up pages and can't spot Chas 'n' Dave anywhere. I know I'm probably just missing them and they must be in there somewhere, as I really don't want to have to get a refund.

There's nothing on that lineup that's made me regret not getting a ticket - plenty of entertaining stuff certainly, but no absolute must see.

Hey - those lads with the bonkers giant wok instruments are playing - Ed had them at Offline once - Portico Quartet.

They were good.

And Candi Staton is going to be beautiful in the sunshine :D

so what do these 'very special guest tbc' mean? should i get excited about them? i mean, are they radiohead special? or rolf harris special? or, y'know, the kooks special?

The final special guest to be announced is......

Clive Dunn!

He will reprise a song that made millions happy.

Grandad, we love you.....

Perfect for a wet Glastonbury.
