Glastonbury 2008

Who wants to do a poll so I don't have to read through this whole thread to see who all got tickets...? I don't do polls, me.... there's probably already one somewhere that I missed.

Well, I've no idea if I've got tix yet. Getting the same response as other posters (card details entered, time out, and then the 'registration numbers already been used bollocks). Hopefully that means I've got mine, but there's nothing more I can do now.

Couldn't get through to the booking page when I wanted tickets so someone else got mine.

I have now sorted three other people.

Ironic!

You will have them :)

Seetickets were quoted on efests saying that the 'registration numbers already been used' message means that your order has gone through.

You have tickets. Just wait for the e-mail.

I'll do a poll.

However I can't work out how to make polls on the new post thingy - it says "add a poll - but doesnt tell me how to add poll elements.

I've just tried for the first time today (not for me!) and got in wirh no problems, so it seems it should be easypeasy now.

If anyone's still stuck, pm me as I've completed my mission.

Tis dead easy now and still NOT Sold out :D

Yep, the page is loading pretty much instantly now.

Wonder what time it'll sell out by? It's clearly not as mad as last year...

No, but was a lot worse once you got booking page up. LAst year, once you got the form (eventually) it all went thorugh ok. This time, every stage had to be tried:back:try again for a while there.

Still all the "too many people want to go" hype is looking sillier than ever now. Those that were half-hearted anyway this time around, prob gave up by 10.30 - I wonder if there's any takers for the resale?

I could have gone to bed slept properly and still got up this afternoon and got a ticket. Bah!

Its looking good that a lot of the soft festival goers have been scared off.
Its going to a sunny and quite festival.

Heaven awaits. :):):)

12:15 and still not sold out.

I dont think this is from lack of interest - I think its the opposite: It was MUCH harder to get through this year - 9:20 tickets bought last year - didnt get in till 11:20 this year.

I think its still not sold out due to the fact that most people couldnt get through.

Yeah, but the page is loading pretty quickly now so I reckon you'd be able to buy a ticket.

I'd ring, thats how I got a ticket last year.

My mate has only just got up (obviously sleeping through phone calls and texts off other mates trying to get him a ticket!), goes online and has a ticket after a couple of clicks! - lucky bastard :D

From my circle of friends demand is a lot less this year, but there has also been a lot less hype than last year. There was even a direct link to buy tickets on the bbc's site iirc, and as has been said, there's not even an article about it today.

I think it took longer cos we couldn't get through but absolutely everyone I know on all sites I know has got all their orders through.

19sixtysix, I thought that too, but wouldn't it scare the life out of you to risk it.

"Glastonbury spokesman John Shearlaw said the sale was "proceeding slowly but fairly".

"We have a total of 137,500 tickets on sale and there have been no problems reported back to us so far," he added.

"We have worked on the sales system extensively since last year and everyone has a fair chance."

He advised festival-goers to "be patient, keep trying and we will let you know when there aren't any tickets left". "

See Tickets had suspended sales of all other tickets for today to cope with the rush, but now they've reinstated everything else, because demand is so slow for Glastonbury! I've not seen it like this for years. :hmm:

Mud and lots of it. I've not been to a glastonbury in the last 6 years that wasn't muddy. Unfortunately the one year that would have been fantastic was the very year that they took a break. Todays market with all the other festivals on offer these days and Glastonbury's 'impossible to get tickets' tag that its now got. Plus the price at 165 quid. Dubs pained expression standing in the brightly lit downpour sum's it up for me.

It all has to takes it toll. The registration process does not help them if less people want to go. Only about 50% of me can make an effort so I'll work, I want to go but I need more motivation as I can't face more rain without purpose.

Its not a problem for GFL. I reckon there are a load of people, true Glasto attendees not going this year, when given the idea that you could buy 4 tickets together right now, would.

That was nice and easy, just how it should be. In the 90s the tickets took weeks to sell out, there was none of this mad ticket-rush malarkey. Much less hype this year. Gonna be a good-un, I can feel it... :D

the main website says 'over half sold in the first three hours'.

i would have thought all would have been sold in the first three hours...

so it's slower this year. it won't be any more or less good for the rate at which it sells out

I can't believe I've got on here and not found a whole "tickets sold out" fiasco. I registered but decided not to buy one, and figured if I got on the web late then I could avoid any temptation.

Ooh-err...

no, youre right, im just expressing surprise. and a bit of 'doh!' -ness cos i was up at 9am clicking away for two and half hours when i could have had a lie-in..

this years my first year as well, after many years of not having money/forgetting to register/giving up on the phone line. and im trying to be as un-cynical as possible; every year there seems to be more moaners than ever that 'its not the same as it used to be'. i have to learn to ignore these cunts and pretend this is the first glasto ever - which for me, it is! waaaaaaaayyy
