Tort said:Err How? 135,000 tickets sold in less than 2 hours. No touts. Hardly a shambles. And the issue regarding people's money not being taken has proved to be Nat West Banks fault for not receiving funds on behalf of GFL. I know See/Aloud haven't exactly covered themselves in glory in the past but as far as I can tell their side of the operation has been pretty seamless this time around.
newbie said:Is that confirmed then, that Natwest were at fault? Do you know why a bunch of bankers would refuse to take money, it seems such an uncharacteristic way for them to behave.
My brain isn't big enough to calculate the amount of money that has not gone into GFLs account for the last couple of weeks, clearly many millions. Which means that there has been a very significant loss of interest. Who pays for that- do Water Aid, Greenpeace will get less, since I can't imagine Natwest putting their hands in their pockets.
belboid said:probly missed it earlier on the thread - but what's this 'money laundering' stuff? as it sounds like blatant bollocks
Who knows what might trigger a block. You'd have to ask somebody who works for Nat West compliance.belboid said:well yes, thats all obvious, but how it relates to glastonbury tickets isnt.
Skim said:WoW, I have managed to sort out my Glasto timetable thanks to my mum, who will take Skimboy off my hands for as long as I need – but I still won't be getting there for Wednesday. I'll be driving up from Devon at the crack of dawn on Thursday, to arrive on site early morning, which means I'll be free for some pear 'n' pot action by lunchtime
Tort said:Under Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulations all organisations dealing in the financial industry have to have anti-money laundering procedures in place. Otherwise they risk enormous fines & sanctions. Anybody who works in the industry will confirm that we have compliance & beaurocracy red tape coming out of our ears & if anything triggers any suspiscion of dodgy dealing then it takes all manner of investigations & high level sign-offs to put things straight. So, it's blatantly feasible bolloks i.m.h.o.
Lazy Llama said:But not everyone of those tickets had the delay in payment being taken, at least some people on here had the money taken within a few days of the 1st.
