Although I hear there will be a new camping field this year. Anyone know anything about that?

More over in the Pennards direction I think? Tort'll know.

The problem with the dragon field is half of its on a hill!

That's a solution, if you get monstrous flash floods like last time ;)

(Which we won't :p )

I luckily managed to buy tickets on the 1st, but my bank rejected the payment. See Tickets said I could have until the 13th (tomorrow) to pay. I've now sorted things out with the bank, but I can't get through to the See Tickets number to make the payment! If I can't get through my tickets will be put back in the pot for resale on the 22nd. I don't know how I'll tell the other people I bought them for if that happens...

Is anyone else in this situation? Any advice?

SeeTickets transactions, or lack of them, are currently causing shedloads of problems for lots of people. I authoised my debit card payment on the 1st, and ave had no issues with having sufficient funds, but the money STILL hasn' gone, nor was the payment even pending when I rechecked earlier this morning...

I think now you may have got caught up with all the others suffering delayed payment completion, docus. Yoiure not alone, and I wouln't worry too much right now ...

I've never made it into the Dragon field to camp. I stayed where the lost vagueness is now in '95 that was  although at 15 and a noob i was wierded out by the travellers! I just try and squeeze into pennards. Although I hear there will be a new camping field this year. Anyone know anything about that? The problem with the dragon field is half of its on a hill!

The majority of the 27,500 additional capacity will be accomodated in an extension to the Pennards / Home Park area. If you look at aeriel photos from the last couple of years there is a vast area of unused meadow stretching westward along the valley between the existing fence & the southern extremities of the car parks, so one would assume that is where the new camping areas will be.

Sorry bees, I think it was full up somewhat earlier than that ...

3 pm should be alright, but it'll be filling up even by then I reckon ...

I'm going to get on site by 11 am to make sure :D

I only got into Williams Field by the skin of my teeth at 3pm in 2003. And that was only after I was able to persuade the stewards that people had saved space for me.

I once put my tent up in the dark and woke up under a pylon opposite the Pyramid stage... didnt matter too much, I hardly spent any time in it that year.. ('98) In fact the only things I can remember fromthat year are seeing Lenny Kravitz and buying a pineapple before Al Green   :D

Top tip for preferrers of clean toilets. Train your bowel cycle to coincide with a visit immediately after the shit waggons have been round. The toilets have been emptied and are all clean and antiseptic then!

Lovely! :)

Lol i haven't really done the festival thing but been to the second biggest airshow in the world a few times in the US (it makes me awesomecool) to volunteer, and the loos were a bit manky.

A load of us used to get up at 5 and got the nicest loos ever! Lemony fresh!

Oh and its all about the hand sanitiser, our camp of 30 was one of the only ones to NOT get S&D out there...

But changing the subject, i'm driving there in the v early hours of wednesday...am i mad?

Me and Aqua will be leaving Birmingham around 6am so that we a) avoid the awful traffic on the M6/M5 link, and b) are there when the gates open so we get to camp where we want to:)

Yeah i'll be on the way from canters, the AA say it takes 3 and a half hours, so allowing the obligatory 2 hours for getting lost/in traffic, i reckon setting out at about half 4 is a good idea...It sounds so simple in principle!

Judging by the buzz and the people wandering about looking for somewhere to camp, a fairly large chuck of attendees have arrived by Thursday evening.

It was very noticeable last time that more and more people are getting there on the wednesday...

Its a good time to arrive, hardly any queing etc.. you can still enjoy the Thursday night..

This is from Infoman on TOS, posted earlier today:

Right, I have waited long enough.

We were told it was a problem with NatWest accounts. That was not quite so.

GFL banks with NatWest. NatWest were refusing and refusing again and again such a substantial amount of money into GFL's account. Most probably the concerns over money laundering dominate.

It is expected that this will be resolved today (yes, I know that has been said before). It is not expected that the deadline will have to be extended, but ultimately GFL wants to sell tickets and the public wants to buy them, so there will be found ways to make this happen.

I've been pleading on behalf of those who might have had other draws on their account since the 1st. I do not expect anyone to be disqualified from buying tickets if it happens that the cash is not in their accounts, but would suggest that all whose acccounts might be marginally in the black, make sure that there is enough there in the next few days.

N.B. The NatWest account they refer to is GFLs own account, not any ticket buyers.

I'm driving down the night before to be there first thing, I want to reserve my place in camp urban next to you :)

some of the buses leave on thursday as well, they dont all arrive at once.

Very few. The whole idea is they arrive outside of peak arrivals time to keep traffic disruption to a minimum. This has been the cause of huge consternation among people who DON'T want to arrive on Wednesday. Nutters! :D

The money thing is quite disturbing - I spoke to my bank today and they said that their policy is that if 14 days elapse between their original authorisation for a transaction, and the money being taken, they'd have to review it. So See need to ask for my money tomorrow, or I'm in the shit.

I really can't see how the cockup has happened - it's not like this is the first time Glastonbury will have had lots of money coming into its account...

good grief. 13,097 people appear to have commented to a thread called "adopt a newbie". We'll have none of that here, thankyouverymuch!
