Errrmmm I dont have a debit card - am I gonna be able to get a ticket without one?
Site info reckons debit card only - can you not borrow one? And pay whoever back with a cheque?

Do you never draw money out of ATMs then? Or use a Switch in shops? How do you function zenie?!

The realisation that I'm going to miss my son terribly is kicking in... I could always bring him, of course, but that would make a completely different Glasto altogether. And it would be bloody hard work.

I'm now thinking about doing the Glade instead (if it's on) because at least I will have some satisfactory childcare on London and it's less work all round. There are also a couple of small electronic music festies that are looking very appealling – Wrong Music and Avant Garden

Glasto is great but it doesn't have to be the be-all-and-end-all of summer. Also, I'd like to try something new this year.

Hope I don't regret all this on Sunday afternoon when the tickets run out ;)

Yeah, sorry about that Skim, I forgot (after getting back from the pub, last night! ) about the mum factor -- hope you saw my apology ...

It'll be a shame to miss you at Glasto, but there'll be other festies ;)

No worries... I've been going through the options, have even thought about taking the boy with me :D But that's pretty masochistic.

Still, there's next year. And the years after that...

Still haven't made up my mind completely, but there are plenty of other events to go to. I'm looking forward to some one-day festies around London... and maybe a forest party somewhere

Arrrghh... I'm having doubts. Even if I got a ticket, I can't get to the site until Friday lunchtime, then have to leave late Sunday afternoon. So that's a few hundred quid for a 48-hour party. I really don't know if it's worth it  :(

I'm having exxactly the same thoughts.....

Me and the Janster registered, but have worked out that 150x2 + van ticket + food + booze etc. then that's heading into the £350+ each territory!!! For one weekend!

Previously I've hopped over the fence or worked on a charity stall, so have managed to get in free, so it's a real shocker to work out what it's gonna cost to buy 2 tickets.

Frankly you could have an amazing 3-week holiday somewhere hot for that price!

Guess it just depends on what you really wanna do eh han? I can barely afford it, but having missed a few years and being desperate to go again, for me it's above and beyond what it costs and what I could get for the money. I just need to go :D

Yep - fairy nuff! And if you really wanna go then it IS worth it! :)

So is it 9am to buy the tickest online, or can you start buying them from 12.01 am in the morning?!

9 I believe :D I have a whole action plan built around the purchasing, so don't start putting doubts in my head ;)

It is worth if if you really want to go, definitely.

But I'd want a decent place to camp and hate the idea of getting there Friday lunchtime and having to camp somewhere crap.

Thing is, I'd been getting insanely excited about going to Glasto for quite a while and now the reality of childcare/finances has hit me, I've had to reconsider. I think of all the other events I could spend my money on...

... and then I think how nice it would be to sit watching Bjork with some pear cider :(

Oh I don't know.

I'm going to explode with indecision.

What are the camping options if you arrive Friday morning? Surely there's no chance of getting into Pennards?

Don't squeeze into the bottom of Pennards, no matter what they say about 'improved drainage'

the family camping area usually has loads of space and is close to the kids field.

Go on, you know you want to, and he'll love it :)

No bloody way :D It's 'orrible down there. Top of the hill is much better... but also very popular.

I have considered it, but being the sole carer of a six-month-old – and all the babycrap that involves bringing – would turn me into a quivering wreck  :D

Its not even the weekend yet, and the sickness feeling has crept into my stomach.

I shall cry for a year if I dont get tickets :(

*wrings hands*

blues, it doesnt say that on the website?

edit - quote glast ticket info -• Postal orders and cheques raised by either a building society or a bank (as a Bankers Draft) will also be accepted as payment on the telephone ticket line. Please note personal cheques cannot be accepted. Orders will not be accepted by fax, email or personal callers.

Sorry blues xx

I'll help with baby, you'd better do you best to come :D

Yay!

<hands Shirl a changing bag then skips into the sunset>

:D

Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to talk to my father-in-law tomorrow about taking care of that side of things. I am torn with indecision still – this morning I was writing an email pretty much writing off the idea of going, then by this evening I was looking at photos of tents and getting wistful.

It will be too short, too expensive and too much hard work but it could also be too good not to miss.

I will reach a decision come Sunday morning :D

I have been with a 6 month old and a 2 year old (oh and two 13 year olds but I mainly ignored them:D )

It was hard work but I was camping in the Kidz Crew fields, and I was with other peeps with small children - had a blast actually. That was my first Glasto.

we will be camping on the family field, more room and not inclined to get swamped.

I will lend a hand with the babe - Miss Shirl and I could be honorary fairy godmothers for a bit:)

if you would trust me that is (and if I get a ticket:eek: )
