Simply cannot understand the obsession with wellies. They're bloody awful for walking any distance in. Buy some proper fucking boots ffs

Don't give a toss about the weather. I'm going to have fun taking drugs with my mates in a field listening to music and I shan't be stuck in the office. The weather is incidental to all of this.

Too right. Your going to get some serious blisters with wellies.

Its an investment though, so need to choose wisely, decent boots 100-150 quid a pair, prolly why people go for wellies.

I got my boots for glasto 2000 thinking I'd not really use them much but thought 79 quid was quite a good buy. I have used them loads and was lucky that they were very high quality, still serving me well. Nice sure footing for every step.

I'll be waiting by the door tomorrow morning for the tickets, but I've just about given up hope on them if they were supposedly mailed on the 6th.

So I figure I'll spend the rest of tomorrow on the phone.

That's a sh*tter. Good luck with it.

And in the meantime, can I recommend getting 20' of rope, 6x1' of plank, and a big hook?

Good stuff. Geek that I am, I love lists.

Only a few questions:

WTF is a "Honey Dusty Grinder" ?
What's the tub of Vaseline for?

and, err, you've forgotten yer flip flops. :)

Hot sauce?

er... sorry, that was to stig :D

official line:
In case of a food blandness crisis, I am always prepared.

actual fact:
Shit I hadn't thought of that!
*packs in chilli sauce and newly discovered extra hot horseradish*

Moose you are a life saver, I owe you a couple of decent suppers.

Honey dust grinder is just a three layer grinder for weed. The 'honey dust' catches the THC cystals, and the vaseline is for sore wet feet. Stops you getting trench foot! I forgot to put down my swiss army knife too :)

Agree!!!

Disagree!

We'll have loadsa fun and we'll cope, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to claim that the weather makes near enough no difference ...

Doesn't bother you, doesn't bother a lot of others, is even bothering me somewhat less than it was, now that I've had to resign myself to reality, but won't you think of the rain averse and the want to sit downers? ;)

I wish I brought my camera now :(

Wonder if I can get it sent down special delivery?! What's more dangerous. Royal Mail with £1k's worth of camera gear or me, drunk, with £1k's worth of camera in a muddy field? :D

Glastonbury festival 2007

Pyramid Sound System

The following press realese was issued by dick tee of That's Enteetainment
(Glastonbury Festival Pyramid Production Manager)

The year off in 2006 gave an ideal opportunity to review audio designs for the Pyramid Stage. Michael Eavis wanted to revisit a point source PA system installation as he felt that better suited the festival than the current almost default use of line array. Of course such decisions could not be made without careful analysis to ensure that performance and environmental criteria would be met. An initial exploration of options was made by Dick Tee, Glastonbury Festival Pyramid Production Manager, and this resulted in Tony Andrews and John Newsham at Funktion One being invited to collaborate with Festival Sound Coordinator Chris Beale of Chris Beale Agencies and Environmental Sound Consultant David Leversedge of Simons Capita to present a design using their Resolution Series Loudspeakers.

Funktion One provided comprehensive and detailed modeling to demonstrate that audience sound levels and coverage could be achieved whilst maintaining a margin of safety for offsite noise criteria. Listening tests and performance at recent shows and events has given great confidence that the Resolution system will suit the Pyramid Stage perfectly and it has therefore been selected for the 2007 festival.

Chris Beale will serve as Sound Coordinator for the Pyramid Stage and will support Funktion One and Audio Plus as loudspeaker suppliers and RG Jones who will supply the control and monitor systems.

Cool, will be interesting to see how that sounds then, Funktion One have a bit of a reputation as being for dance music and not much else, but more and more rock acts are starting to use them. The Kaiser Chiefs spring to mind as one big name group that went out with F1 stuff.

Travel insurance????????

Or - you know what you're looking for - take a k'head's camera when you get there??

[rich! - testing festie morals since 1990]

Yeah, breakneck records had them before they went and bought a valve sound system that is so loud they can't turn it up to full whack with out the pier vibrating :D

Rich, it isn't insured :s

I was listening to the F1 system they had at the washed out Victoria Park stage and they had Samba and Ska from the beat and it was great. Very clear sound. Quite neutral across the range, very tight punchy bass. Perhaps a bit too tight but not annoying. Nice deep purple and silver cabs.

I have been witnessing festival sound get markedly better over the last 7 years or so.

every time we meet, we will drink Navy Rum.

If it's good enough for the Empire to conquer the world, we'll do Pilton with it.

:D

*arrr!*

we've just done a VERY long run - London > Buxton > Newcastle > London (about 650 miles round trip) and we're knackered, the thought of piling back into the van in a couple of days is a bit meh! but the van's working a treat, which is good news for the various Urbs we're taking.

And we hit a caravan shop and bought the greatest bit of camping porn ever - a table that ROLLS UP!!!!

i nearly came :)

v good news about the Wrong Music night - PROD finishes about 10.30 then we can peg it over there..

Again with the cheesy wotsits...

Besides - we've seen where you're parked. Hope you bought jet-boots :D :D

Roll up table.... :D

Hope you had a great weekend x Looking forward to seeing you and your lovely lady and swapping baby stories with... (is it mrsmonkey or ??)

I bought one of them on site, Sunray and it cost me about a tenner. Some scab half inched it through the night (or I left it somewhere because I was hammered more than likely). If it is the same thing it tore when I sat on it and I am a skinny piece of shit.

I believe that photo repeats one of my fundamental principles:

anyone who tries to make jamiroquai sound/look/be/... good should be served at the Aussie Steak Sandwich Bar.

Or one of Seymour Cray:

garbage in, garbage out....
