Glastonbury 2005

If I wasn't fucked off about not getting a ticket before, I bloody well am now!

Don't give up yet LDR. There may be a few limited rereleases of small batches of tickets issued in duplicate/in error, or rereleased because of people cancelling (yes there will be a few people who end up 'just realising' that their cat's grandmother is getting married that weekend  )

Keep an eye on these threads/boards, I'm sure it will get posted up if any news emerges of any more getting on sale. I believe Tort has his ear to the ground in such matters, and I'm on efestivals from time to time.

Same advice to feyr and other failed applicants ...

Cheers Bellboid, I'll see if I can help him.

Looked at one of the links there - the car parking one - seems you still have to pay £130 for the privilege of working...

As already said, thats just a deposit. He gets it all back if he fulfils all his shifts :)

They simply had to reintroduce that system for pretty much all categories of working at Glasto a few years back --- too many people were failing to show/sneaking off to the Cider Bus and getting trashed/taking too many drugs etc etc ....

Understandable really, given all the temptations on offer ...

We can't afford it now really as we spent quite a bit of cash at the weekend buying stuff for the house instead. Doh! :(

why would there be anything to worry about? i love kylie, i'm off to see her in may at earl's court myself.

she's great live, which is why i said "enjoy kylie"

:)

Oh you better believe it. I'm going to have to make some space in the old wank bank for Kylie - got a feeling I'll be making regular withdrawals for some time after June.

Remind me nearer the time not to camp next to you :D

Decided not to go in the end - three of us wanted to go, and none of us had enough money for a ticket. :(

But now there are plans afoot for the Big Chill and/or Bestival and/or Sonar and/or all sorts of other things. I feel strangely liberated :)

I find this reaction a bit illogical. Once you've used your passport once, to gain entry, you won't need it again, so you can stash it away somewhere very safe eg in an envelope in one of the (ultra safe) property lockups.

Also, you can get your non-photo driving licence replaced by a photo one through the DCLC can you not? There's still plenty of time brefore the end of June.

I'd urge people to avoid those 'citizens cards' unless they're unreservedly happy to be used as a trial run in a prototype for a national ID card.

The "Citizens card" is NOT a trial run for national ID cards. They are a private but non-profit-making company with a little official backing who want to position themselves as the ONLY proof of age card for kids and young adults. Their cards normally cost 9 squid, but they are doing a free deal for Glasto ticketholders.

The scheme is largely backed by, and for the benefit of, businesses that need to be able to decide easily if someone's old enough to buy certain stuff, like booze, cigs, video games, solvents, knives, DVDs, etc etc.

Citizen Card's database would not be usable for the proposed national ID card scheme - its not secure enough.

Giles..

Im sure I read on efests that they won't be excepting passports as ID.
Probably just cos they don't want everyone to lose them/get them nicked. I could be wrong though...

lack of address I thought

yep, its photo-driving license or govmt-endorsed ID cards (incl. citizens cards) - both of which have your address on it.

are they really going to be that strict about it on 'the door' do you reckon? it seems a bit militant

You can use a passport, but the police are strongly advising against it hence TOS won't advertise it :)

That makes 51 by my count (not including +1s).

I'm sure I've missed people out, spelt names wrong and probably offended someone's cat but just a quick note and I shall amend it accordingly.

See you all there, in around 86 days :)

impressivley rapidly done list sir - and what's best - I don't think any of them want to hit me!

cracking! :)

Well, had to get in there before some impatient upstart decided they knew what they were doing and all kinds of chaos ensued.... ;)

Just checked my emails, perhaps I should have unsubscribed from this thread before yesterday morning   :D

Am I not allowed on the list? :(

I know I've not been around much recently... but I thought that once an urbanite always an urbanite (obviously disregarding flounces and bans...)

:)

It's actually not as big as usual (or at least that's what the doctor says - ba boom tish ), I think we've had around 80 in total before.

Still, early days yet, sincerely doubt that's a full list (for a start Dub and editor aren't on there as I'm unsure of whether they've got tickets yet).
