Far-right response to Southport Outrage And Ongoing Violent Disorder

A vocal local from Reform UK maintains that in Sunderland a police station was burned down by armed Islamists. The fact that you won't hear that on mainstream media only goes to show how the establishment control everything. How do you argue with that kind of logic?

Just list a few other things mainstream media didn't mention. The River Severn flowing upstream. Aliens invading Wolverhampton. Joey Barton being named pope.

Only problem with this is it's hard to come up with joke examples stupid enough that none of the cranks will actually believe them.

Worrying watching the rumours fly around today, saw some unsourced claim online that they were going to be near me earlier and first thing down the shops I hear some lady talking about it on the phone, Facebook local group has people making random claims about groups coming to my area too which is completely unlikely and again, completely unsourced. All adds to the paranoia and worry for people though and as made up as I think this gossip is I still can't tell them not to be bothered by it because you never know. Was also talking to a friend who has changed their social plans here in London, not in a big way, nothing cancelled but rather than going further afield they're sticking to areas they know and places they trust. They're not particularly caught up in the rumours either, they're just reacting to a general sense of unease.

I've just been down Chatham High St.

Every single shop owned or run by anyone non white is shut with a fair.few having rudimentary defences. Other businesses are shutting earlier or sending home vulnerable staff. The BAME locals that are out and about look scared. The town centre is notably quieter.

It's fucking embarrassing that the racists have had this much of an impact.

If I hadn't posted that here then I wouldn't have been told how old it is and wouldn't have been able to pass that info on to my GF so she can also tell her friends. I don't feel bad about posting it at all.

Fair enough. OTOH my grandchildren live a few hundred metres from that bridge and I could have done without the fleeting worry you put in my head.

Not sure what I'm supposed to do, though - I'm certainly not joining Twitter because of this. Just let the worry fester when my GF's sent this (by other Muslim women who are understandably worried) and never get a chance to find out if it's real or not?

Brighton apprantly it's our time tomorrow we are going to patrol in pairs and are going home at 6 possibly earlier if anything actually happens theire will probably be more police than protestors

I'm not far from Brighton and the organisation I work for runs projects all over Sussex. We got an email from the CEO yesterday telling everyone who works or lives in Brighton to close early and get home well before any trouble starts.

It's going to be a nightmare for commuters; the focus of the action has been published as being an address on the main road leading away from the station.

One thing we need to keep in mind is that there are always anti-social dickheads doing horrible shit. Not everything that happens will be connected to recent events. That sounds as likely to be some gang shit as anything else.

I've lived here 25 years, it's not a gang area. It's a Muslim area. I can hear police sirens now, round the clock, starting in the last week, shops are closing early, and there are masked up white lads acting dodgily, to say the least, roaming round at 3an and one of them hid a huge fkin weapon in a garden.

If you want to suggest these things are not connected, you can. But from someone on the ground, sitting here, the idea sounds preposterous.

All set for it to come to my neighbourhood (Newcastle west end) tonight. But just been hearing that police have advised loads of places in North Tyneside to shut or take extra security as (the rumour is they'll be assembling over there first than travelling our way) but no one has confirmed any protest or kicking off.

Where I am the council and police have apparently advised shops to close early but the only thing they've mentioned happening is a generic SUTR rally. Been asking if they have any other info that might actually pose a threat because if not they're spreading a huge amount of fear for no reason.

As you would expect ,well Middlesbrough feels a bit on edge to me. I would put it as fucking horrible . Lots of cunts been remanded in custody last two days. Disgusts me the bastards need to be given as harsh sentances thats possible.

of course it does or what's the point of having the ear of the pm and the home and justice secretaries?

All of the above are members of the executive branch of government, which is constitutionally separate from the judiciary.

UK Supreme Court - Separation of Powers

If any of these had powers to influence charging and sentencing decisions then such powers would be defined in law. And they aren't.

I disagree. The charges are clearly a political decision in light of prison population and liability for damages. The charges brought attract a fraction of 'the full force of the law'. It'll deter your common or garden racist. Perhaps. But there's clearly two tier policing in that were it black or brown people rioting heavier charges and sentences would be laid

See here for details: Four sentences reduced, eleven upheld, in appeal for Bradford rioters - Institute of Race Relations

Excessive sentencing?

More than a hundred Asians have now been convicted of riot for involvement in the Bradford disturbances. The majority have handed themselves in to the police, pleaded guilty and had no relevant previous convictions. Most have been sentenced to between four and six-and-a-half years. Under 18s have been given between six and eighteen months detention.

The guidelines laid down by the Court of Appeal this week indicate that, given the particular circumstances of this riot, somebody present for a short period who threw stones at the police, should expect a sentence of five years (before any discount for a guilty plea). Someone whom a court finds to be a ringleader should expect a sentence of ten years (before any discount).

Normally the courts would reduce the sentence by a third if the defendant offered a guilty plea. But the Appeal Court judges ruled that a discount of less than a third should apply in cases such as these, where the evidence against the defendants was overwhelming. Evidence collected from CCTV footage has proved pivotal in all the trials of Bradford rioters.

No probeln if you feel its related then there is no reason not to belive you

It was more general point using you post really. People are understandably a bit jumpy. Like the the siren thing you mention. I also think I'm hearing them more oftern. But then I question myself, am I really, or am I just more aware of it? I already had a case today of it apparently kicking off near me, so I physically went to see for myself and there was nothing.

Things are shit, but we also need to try and keep a bit of perspective and not overreact to things.

Just on the process of rumours, I posted up yesterday there had been some top down instructions about closing early here yesterday (Bishop Auckland). Essentially, the police suggesting businesses close early. Following that, ASDA had to lock people in, facing some real or apparent threat.

Turns out today - again a rumour of course - that they think there were a group of likely looking lads who had met at ASDA awaiting transport, to go and riot in Durham. Durham was genuinely 'poised' for riots and had Dispersal Orders in place, though no actual trouble.

So, in total, no riots in Bishop Auckland and none in Durham. However, seeing the various rumours emerge over about 36 hours, they seemed to be of the semi-plausible, honest intention rumours. However, there's a thin line between those kind of rumours and rumours that lead to panics. But then that's simply how things are in circumstances like this, rumours spread. We though do need to be careful not amplify rumours/do the most basic fact checking.

i see where you're coming from. but you seem to think that judicial lines run untrammelled by external forces, which is frankly far from the case. it's as though you think people in westminster never talk to people outside westminster and that the way things are supposed to run is the way they do.

We've just been told we can go home early if we are commuting to Wallsend or North Shields due to expected rioting later.

I know Great Ormond Street Hospital have sent a statement to staff advising that managers should try to support staff if they have safety concerns travelling to work ( they suggest altered travel times), there will be extra security staff on site and all staff to be vigilant and report anything unusual or concerning. A children's hospital.

Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, 3 August 2024

After Elsie Dot Stancombe, Bebe King and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were killed (and other children and adults were seriously injured) in the Southport knife attack, those engaged in the ongoing white supremacist rioting in a number of English towns and cities immediately claimed that they were doing so to "protect children".
