Elon Musk - news and discussion

The US legal system features punitive damages based on the wealth of the defendant, so it's not like we can compare it to anything here. I don't understand it very well so can't really offer anything further.

I remember reading that the damages you ask for are the maximum you can be awarded, although you inevitably end up getting less. So there is essentially no disadvantage in asking for the biggest amount possible

Elon gets political

Aka rich guy sees his business interests threatened and comes down on the side of “let the little people die”. I do hope this comes back to bite him HARD.

Yes. Plain to see his position isn’t informed by any real facts or insight into the problem, but purely self-interest. It probably reveals his firm is in a much more fragile position than he would like people to realise.

I imagine Musk is desperate for people to return to buying Teslas. Perhaps there are also pressures from investors, Tesla is massively overvalued on the stock market which isn't his fault but it will remain an issue for many if the risk is there that the stock might slide.

Did he go on some kind of bender after SpaceX won that moon lander contract yesterday?
There are things I don't need to own also.

A Vincent Black Shadow 1,000cc V Twin. I don't need to own one at all but I want to have enjoyed riding one, assuming I can get used to the controls that is.
