Got to track one down to replace the truly appalling Jacobsen egg chair - which now serves as something to dump ironing and coats over
They look nice but I seem to remember them failing in the comfort department. A bit hard and unforgiving.

I bought the 'tall boy' unit on the left. It was hard to find a bathroom unit slim enough to fit into the small space but hopefully it's going to fit once I've built the thing.

Carrying it back from the shop nearly killed me. It weighed over 55kg and I had a full back pack so I've got some lovely bruises from the half mile haul.

Antiques Roadshow special.

I bought this lot at auction for about £30 last January because I liked the tiled Morroccan table and it was going well under the estimate.

The pine cabinet is just about useful as a shoe rack and the oak table turned out to be cobbled together from the parts from a larger table. The footstool is a bit scruffy but has been working nicely as a bluetooth speaker stand.

I just bought a new armchair and needed a new footstool. Grabbed this one and realised it was very comfy and just the right height. Then I noticed how well made it was and had a closer look.

On the base is a sticker which says Chatsworth 2010, 250, Sothebys.
Google tells me it was sold at a famous auction:

The lots are listed on the Sothebys website and 250 (the footstool) is on there. Turns out to be Georgian, and was photograped in 1910 in the drawing room of Chiswick House in west London, the room where the Duke of Devonshire recieved guests, and was sold in 2010 for £400. Now I like my footstool even more :D😎:D:D

I’ve recently bought one of these but, finding that the padding is a little too thin for me, I made a new seat cushion from a memory foam pillow. (Hand sown by my own fair hands!) The size isn’t quite right, I’ll work on that. But now it’s a lovely comfy chair with a slight rocking motion.

Been needing a new dishwasher for ages as my one was 10 years old when it became mine with ownership of last place.
Six years later, really need one. Testament to Bosch though as it still works, just not as well as it did.

Didn't particularly want to buy brand new as hopefully kitchen will be renewed at some point and may need a different type of dishwasher, depending on what we do to the kitchen.

Aaaanyway, had been scouring eBay and Gumtree etc.
Found this beauty; high spec Siemens iq500. A few years old but was around £700 new.

Was a bit grubby as had been stored in a garage for 8 months but I stripped everything out including the door seal, jet-washed the lot and it came up absolutely spanking! Barely any signs of wear and tear apart from a few small scratches on the front.

It was really nice to work on as everything was so well made and thought out.
Works flawlessly. So quiet, absolutely purrs!

Should last a good while. Get what you pay for I reckon.

£67.

Not slap but two of these, I am inordinately pleased I got them..... 2 x 2 seater Klippan sofa from IKEA.

Disclaimer, not my flat

I would like new bedding. I’m sick of buying cheap duvets that end up looking flat and shit.
You know in American films and tv shows where they climb into bed and their bedding is all full and cosy looking? I want that.
I still want thin for summer because I’m a radiator but I want a really good winter duvet.
Does it need to be feather for that really?

Everything looks better in films and television. Perhaps you should apply to live in a movie.

Having another go. Anyone? Do I need a feather duvet or can I get a plump and cosy synthetic one?
I’m sick of flat and lifeless bedding.

This thread might give some pointers on what you need. I've got a feather and down one, and it's lovely and light but a bit too warm for me. Not slept under it for months this year due to the hot weather.

Cheers, very useful. 😊

Not a new purchase but finally rewired my soviet Gagarin night light from the 70’s. very poor quality and a Stone Age transformer in it guts. Let’s hope it doesn’t go all baikonor on me. Made at the Yuzamash factory that produced the real thing.
