You need never go out clubbing again!
I think the last time I was in a club was years ago - think it was that place some of us went to by Manchester uni, Twisted at Tangled I think?

Setting it to a warm red colour is nice in the bedroom. Annoyingly though, the remote control works through walls and activates the one in the next room - something I only realised when I got up for a wee during the night.

Ordered one of these, and a couple of the other types in the range to try them out (roasty thing and egg poacher)

Will be interesting to see if the technology has improved since the early 80s - I remember using stuff that promised to bake cakes (and brown them), and do crispy bacon in the new-fangled microwave my parents got back then. They weren't great so if the tech hasn't improved I've just wasted my money. :hmm:

Reviews look good. Report back please .

Will do. I've got a traditional toastie machine but it's a pain to clean so I don't use it. I like the idea of being able to roast veg in the microwave rather than turn the oven on too so I hope that one works well.
Sounds good. I've got a toastie machine but I keep it in a cupboard when I'm not using it . Inevitably other things get pushed in on top of it and then when I eventually get it out I frequently think that I should have cleaned it better.

Same here - they're such a nuisance to clean I can't be arsed to use them often. I don't think I've used mine for years because of this. Same with the breville george foreman type grill thing. If this works it will be useful - although I risk living on cheese toasties...

Bolster cushions for daybed in front room:

Two were delivered and left concealed in front garden on Saturday while we were out, but enquiry with etsy seller fortunately confirmed delivery fuck up, not someone walking off with the third one, and it arrived today

Cloo have you got the Hemnes day bed? If so, what do you think of it?
I’m thinking of changing the double bed in the spare room for a day bed or sofa bed.
It needs to be comfortable because it will get used as a spare bed and I’ll use it as a sofa when I’m working in there.

It's not super comfy I'd say, I have slept on it a few times but wouldn't want to often. Bought it second hand from charity shop across the road so literally got kind volunteers to carry it to the house.

Thanks, as suspected. The reviews online seem mixed. I think I’m tempted by it looking lovely. I know you can buy thicker mattresses for it but it does bump the cost up.
I’m looking at WFH permanently at least 3 days a week and a couple of new jobs I’ve seen are permanent home working and I don’t like sitting at a desk all the time and I need more space. The other answer is a smaller table in there but mine is perfect for cutting out and sewing.

Just bought a rather expensive non stick frying pan from John Lewis, this is the first non food related item I've bought since the pandemic started.

Found a YouTube video on how to make New York style pizzas using a pan like the one I've just purchased, will try and give that a go over the weekend.

Would it be an Eaziglide Neverstick? I have several of their pots and pans. I winced at the cost but they work well and, so far, seem long lasting.

I realised that if we want to invite anyone over to our garden, we don't actually have any decent garden furniture as the garden table and at least some of the chairs in inherited from my sister have fallen to bits. Had heard garden furniture was sold out in a lot of places, so looked in somewhere less obvious and found this very nice and decently priced set in La Redoute, so have ordered it.

I trooped to Ikea to buy 2 dining chairs & use an xmas gift voucher. I arrived just before 10am & there was a queue which thankfully was quite swift as it was cold. Chairs sorted then I mooch in ‘bargain corner’ though it’s not called that anymore & mostly there are no bargains but I found some garden chairs for £30 each which will go in fire pit area. I then had to play car Jenga to fit it all & got utterly soaked but I bloody did it! I nearly gave up & was going to make 2 trips! I got a nice little stainless steel cocktail shaker for 99p from the Age UK shop - very pleased, have been on the lookout for one for a while.

(Don't laugh, when I got into making cocktails during 1st lockdown, I was using a washed out coffee jar to shake them)

Oh, how could I forget, I got a new toaster earlier this week, our old one was knackered (had it over 30 years mind you).

This one does 4 SLICES at once AND you can lift them up to check them without turning the toaster off at the wall.

It isn't the one I originally wanted as it doesn't have separate browning control for each pair of slices, but as you can lift and retrieve one pair without disturbing the other it is absolutely fine. This one had the benefit of us being able to get it without a bus trek to collect it or minimum order/delivery fees issue! :D

Going to go back and get the matching kettle once I am sure my tax overpayment from last year has been refunded. (The kettle we currently have is the matching one of the toaster we just replaced and is similarly knackered, doesn't always turn on when you press the button, not to mention all covered in limescale where the spout leaks slightly! Time for it to go).

I just bought a EcoAir Zephyr fan, for £129. It has 35 speeds including 9 ultra-quiet ones!

I can't sleep well during summer at the best of times so hopefully this will be a worthwhile investment.

The 30 quid job we've got is fine but like most cheap fans has only 3 speed settings, the slowest of which sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
