David Icke on the Russell Brand show

i thought everyone knew geller was a fraud ;)

not having a go mp but you really need to be less gullible, there is no way someone can bend spoons using only the power of their mind. and i'm sorry but this claim about how he helps oil companies find oil sounds like something he made up himself. Unless someone can give me a reliable source showing that he did this I aint gonna believe it.

Are you suggesting the only way Geller could afford his lifestyle is through dowsing for oil? :D

Well, he's a very rich man and his heyday as a performer has come and gone. I can't see where else he would get it from.

If that's the case then you would think it would be reported somewhere other than in a half remembered magazine.

This reminds me of the way so many 'psychics' claim they have been brought in by the police to find bodies. It always, and I mean ALWAYS turns out to be totally untrue.

Even if he is a fraud, I owe him a debt of gratitude of sorts for bringing some sparkle to the otherwise cheerless autumn of 1973, which is when he appeared on TV bending spoons etc.

Most of them will say something along the lines of "I worked on the case" - no indication that they were invited to do so, or that they had any results, merely that they "worked" on it. This could cover them simply thinking about it for a couple of minutes :D

Exploititive shitbags the lot of them.

Just because he's a fraud doesn't mean he isnt entertaining  :)

Not that kind of money you wouldn't.

Well, according to Wikipedia he's written a fair few books which might help, plus he doesn't seem to have many standards with regards to what he'll do for cash (I'm a Celebrity... etc) and no doubt he has a fair pool of people who still believe in him and are willing to pay for anything he does... So, I can imagine he does fairly well out of it all.

He seems to be the only one who's made claims about the Oil stuff too, no one from any of the oil companies (and I'd imagine a fair few people at various levels would know if he was involved) appear to have said anything at all.

Edit: Also according to Wiki he 'worked on' a kidnapping case and claimed that the victim would be found alive, she wasn't.

Scientists want full proof under laboratory conditions. And the answer is very simple: when I'm put under pressure, I can't perform. Even the phenomenon I'm most known for. When I'm on stage, I'm not under pressure and it happens. In other important places, it happens. But in a laboratory where I really want it to happen, it's very hard for me

Yeah, weird that :D

I have found one article supportive of his claim:

http://www.newsmonster.co.uk/water-divining-beats-britains-drought.html

Apparently Pennex made a fortune on an oilfield located by Geller...

That site's got some other newsflashes too..:D

"Mediums really do talk to the dead, claim top scientists"

"Have scientists really proved that man can see into the future?"

"Uri Geller says we need to learn from children in prayer"

"Mobile phones are killing our ghosts"

"Psychics on Wall Street"
