So the body having to deal with new epitopes is producing a stronger reaction ?
I had an impressive reaction to the first AZ, but no issues with the second or the Pfizer ...
Have people with strong reactions had natural COVID infection ?

Just had both covid and flu jabs. Both in left arm. Don't know which covid vax it was (i forgot to ask) so not sure if newer omicrom version or the original vax.

Are people not given leaflets when they get their jabs? Every time me and the rest of my family have had covid jabs round here, we are always given the bit of paperwork that drones on in detail about aspects of the vaccine licensing and authorisation etc, 'the small print'. And at the start of those documents the exact type of vaccine is listed.

Likewise. And I've got a vaccination card each time with the vaccine type/batch number/date on it.

Not on this occaison. It was very busy at this chemist and it seemed a bit disorganised to be honest when compared to previous places i've been to (never been to same place twice and this was my 4th covid and 2nd flu i've had)

I think i may be able to find out what i had when my nhs app updates with the info (which i think takes a week or so).

The bureaucracy would not be pleased to hear of this failure!

Anyway just for anyone interested, if you've received one of the new vaccines that also contains Omicron strain stuff, you should get one of these leaflets:

For Moderna: https://assets.publishing.service.g...97/Spikexax_bivalent_Original_Omicron_PIL.pdf

Spikevax bivalent Original / Omicron

Spikevax bivalent Original / Omicron contains two different types of (mRNA), elasomeran and imelasomeran. Elasomeran encodes the Spike protein of the original strain of the virus whereas imelasomeran encodes the Spike protein of the Omicron BA.1 variant of the virus. The original Spikevax vaccine contains elasomeran only.

For Pfizer: https://assets.publishing.service.g...02125/COMIRNATY_Original_Omicron_BA.1_PIL.pdf

Comirnaty Original/Omicron BA.1 (15/15 micrograms)

If you havent been given the new types of vaccine that have info from the two strains, you should get one of the older leaflets which wont mention bivalent or Omicron.

I didn't get a leaflet or a new vaccination card - but it showed up on the NHS app a day or so later. Got leaflets for the first couple of vaccines I think. Wonder why they hand out leaflets at all - they don't with things like flu vaccines.

I think i got a leaflet for my flu jab last year.

But no card or leaflet this time. I just checked the nhs app and latest one is not there yet but my previous jabs are there and say which vax it was for each one. Think it takes a few days though.

Been offered mine despite not actually being eligible - my GP practice recorded something slightly wrong so I'm down as vulnerable and it's easier to leave it than deal with their admin team. The big vaccination centre in what was Topshop has closed now but I had a look out of interest and it's offering me appts in Waitrose this time :D

I'm going away tomorrow but maybe I should do a TopCat and try to pick up a few extra jabs in Australia and Aotearoa while I'm there :hmm:

Just had pfizer unsure which version, there was only 2 time lot available when I booked 10 days ago but there was availability for the whole day when I booked my friend yesterday, no leaflet but got a card.

An hour and 10 minutes in no side effects.

Nhs apps updated now and it looks like i got the new omnicrom vaccine...

slightly tender injection site yesterday, I assume this was the nanobots taking their battle station for when they will be activated. Was feeling tired but had a very busy 5 days beforehand so it was probably just that.

Finally worked my way through the booking process (as mentioned upthread, I'd struggled to book it, turned out I should have been saying yes to 'vulnerable' or similar). Booked on my phone for the day after and went along on Saturday, only to find I'd actually booked it for next Saturday. Anyway, they did it and I had the usual lack of side effects, aside from sore arm. In fact I went straight on to football and beer.

Me too - it seems it will take some doing to shake that off my record ... but it's handy getting in there before the next tranche ...
For me, I'm assuming that having cancer was the trigger for getting an earlier text to book the booster. The problem was it didn't say 'you need to answer yes' to question X in the booking process to actually get through. The second text I got did say this explicitly, presumably because they've had people like me going round in circles. Wasn't a major problems as I could easily have sorted a walk in, but an avoidable glitch.

if you're under 50 with no particular vulnerabilities is there any way to buy a booster or just no way to get one at all?
Just recovering from covid now, so maybe have some protection, but it really isn't nice at all and i wonder if it'd have gone better if it wasnt so ages since my last jab.

If you've already had 3 (?) vaccine doses thus far then that would act as a further dose (exposure to antigen), helping broaden your immunoresponse (important: assumes immunocompetence).

If I were in that situation, and being able to wear a mask and socially distance as I see fit, and apparently immunocompetent, I would wait a few months myself before another dose at the very least (currently on month 4 of 6-9 months before considering next dose and that's without any apparent reinfection so far; still don't see any solid scientific evidence yet for a healthy immunocompetent, particularly a hybrid one, to claim another dose).

Hybrid immunity usually means protection thats built up as a result of being both vaccinated and infected in the past.

So for example I would presume that I am not in that category, since I've had no known Covid infection so far (though I have been vaccinated 3 times).

I’ve had 4 shots, 3 different vaccines, but no known infection, so guess I’d be in the same bracket.
